Celebrity Edge Dining & Wine Guide

Celebrity Edge Cruise Wining & Dining

Anyone that has cruised before knows how important dining is to your travel experience. Well, I have some incredible news to share with you… Celebrity Edge just launched their new ship, Celebrity Edge and the dining offered is amazing! I just spent two days on a media trip getting to know the ship (let’s be honest, you can only see part of a ship in 2 days) but I worked hard to taste as many things as possible during those two days (you’re welcome!). Below, I share some of my favorite dining highlights of the stunning new Celebrity Edge.  As always, let me know if you have any questions. And yes I plan to go back and spend some more time on the new Edge so I’ll be adding to this after a longer more thorough visit.

Eden Restaurant

Eden Restaurant is for sure the most innovative and adventurous dining concept on Celebrity Edge. By day, it’s a cafe with an open lounge area and at night it’s a mouthwatering restaurant with incredible live entertainment including dancers, acrobats, singers, really a huge assortment of talent entertaining guests. See more about Eden Restaurant below!

Celebrity Edge

During the day, Eden is a delicious cafe where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or a juice bar.

Celebrity Edge

Eden’s stunning interior design, furniture, and aesthetic paired with the creative cocktails, menu, and live entertainment are all part of what makes the experience so captivating for guests. Kudos to the Celebrity Cruises team on this cutting edge experience.

Our table at Eden Restaurant with front-row views of the open kitchen. As you have read, I love an open kitchen giving guests a live show watching the talented culinary team at work.

Grgich Hills Estate Chardonnay

Enjoying a delicious glass of Chardonnay from Grgich Hills Estate. During my trip, I learned that Celebrity has a partnership with Grgich Hills Estate who makes a special Chardonnay just for Celebrity Cruises. This was music to my ears, as I adore Chardonnay (as you probably know by now) and Grgich Hills Estate makes a beautifully balanced, easy to drink (meaning it appeals to a wide range of wine enthusiasts) wine. This was not the first time I enjoyed a glass of this on the ship…

Celebrity Edge

I loved the tableside interaction as one of my dishes was served. It’s so much more exciting watching a sauce poured on a plate in front of you vs. in the kitchen where you miss the excitement first hand.  Everything about the dining experience at Eden is designed for the guest experience curating a memorable and tasty meal like no other.

Dessert Course at Eden

Celebrity’s own Michelin-starred Chef Cornelius Gallagher creating this fabulous dessert which I enjoyed (below) while dining at Eden. I had the privilege of meeting Chef Cornelius a few times during my media trip and it was incredible. He hails from the New York dining scene (as do I) so it was especially exciting getting to chat with the Associate Vice President of Food and Beverage Operations for Celebrity Cruises.

Celebrity Edge

Finecut Steakhouse

One of the most highly coveted and hardest to secure reservations for a specialty restaurant (which means there’s an additional fee) onboard was Finecut Steakhouse. After eating here I completely understand why. The service was top-notch, the setting was chic and modern with views overlooking the martini bar and the food was divine. I recommend A Filet and the Truffle Mashed Potatoes. And yes, the truffle mashed potatoes are as delicious and indulgent as they sound!

Celebrity Edge

The Wedge Salad starter. This blue cheese was beyond amazing. For some reason, I think a Wedge Salad is always so perfect to pair with a rich steak.

Celebrity Edge

I was lucky to have a visit from Celebrity Edge’s Food & Beverage Director Vlado during my meal.

Celebrity Edge

Belle Gloss Pinot Noir

Being a California Wine gal I always take note of the wine list (as you know by now reading my blog) so I was thrilled to see the beautiful Belle Gloss Pinot Noir (from Santa Lucia Highlands) on the wine list. This is owned by the same family that owns Caymus (read more about Caymus Winery here) and is divine. A full-body, fruit-forward Pinot Noir that is lovely with a juicy, flavorful steak. Perfection! I had this for dinner at Finecut and then the Edge restaurant team had heard how much I adored this wine so they had a bottle handy for me at that dinner as well. It’s these small details and the staff being one or two steps ahead of the guest that sets apart The Celebrity Cruise’s team from their competition.

The incredible Filet Mignon that I enjoyed

Celebrity Edge

My old friend from my last Celebrity cruise on the Celebrity Reflection Ship, Niyazi who is the Hotel, Food & Beverage Director (basically he runs everything the Captain and Engineering team are not responsible for) including accommodations, dining, entertainment… It was lovely reuniting with Niyazi. In the past, I dined with him a few times on my last cruise and got to know him well. Talk about a company with an incredible team of people!

Raw on 5

Another speciality restaurant that seafood lovers will enjoy is Raw on 5. Not only is the space stunning, but they also have a wide assortment of fresh fish, seafood, sushi and more. Wait until you see what I tried and you’ll be anxious to go dine there yourself!

Celebrity Edge

Me and sushi chef, Yoshikazu “Yoshi” Okada of Raw Bar on 5. We met prior to my lunch visit and then connected again during my lunch and he’s incredible. He’s also based in the US and is a consulting chef who was brought in to launch the Raw on 5 concept. He did a great job!

Celebrity Edge

The large assortment of fresh seafood as you enter Raw on 5 restaurant.

Celebrity Edge

The perfect start to any lunch or meal for that matter, the delicious Seafood Tower at Raw on 5

As my entree, I enjoyed the Lobster Roll which was quite fabulous. It has a light sauce to it (I hate Lobster Rolls that are too mayonnaise tasting) yet, there was a subtle delicious dill flavor that was a lovely surprise. It was served with potato chips which I always enjoy with a Lobster Roll.

Le Grand Bistro

Le Grand Bistro is a fabulous bistro and another of Celebrity edge’s speciality restaurants. I enjoyed lunch here the first day on board and loved every bit of the meal. See more about Le Grand Bistro below…

Celebrity Edge

All smiles back on Celebrity Cruises again. I was so excited to be experiencing their brand new ship, Celebrity Edge after traveling with them a few years ago on their other ship,Celebrity Reflection.

Celebrity Edge

Celebrity Edge

The delicious Mussels and pomme frites paired with a glass of Champagne, of course. The mussels were beyond yummy in a delicious white wine with garlic sauce (my favorite).  This was the perfect meal to kick off my Celebrity Cruises media trip on the new Celebrity Edge.

Celebrity Edge

The Lobster Bisque Soup was the most incredible lobster bisque ever. The pastry filling was to die for, so was the rich lobster soup flavor.

Celebrity Edge

A delicious glass of Pouilly-Fusse which paired perfectly with the Lobster Bisque Soup.

Cafe al Bacio

Another great culinary and beverage destination on Celebrity’s newest ship is Cafe al Bacio. With how much eating and drinking I enjoyed on the Edge, coffee is always a good idea. This is also a stunning lounge area where guests can relax, read, have a coffee, or enjoy a treat.

Thanks to Celebrity Cruises for having me on their spectacular new ship. I had an amazing 2-days on Celebrity Edge and can’t wait to return to share more about this magical ship with my readers. Be sure to read more about The New Celebrity Edge sharing more about the ship and my stateroom on the blog.
