Pacific Catch A San Francisco Restaurant for Island Flair, Fresh Seafood And Great Prices

Pacific Catch A San Francisco Restaurant for Island Flair, Fresh Seafood and Great Prices

Pacific Catch San Francisco is a fantastic casual eatery serving up fresh fish and Asian inspired cuisine for lunch and dinner. The menu stems from cultures in the Pacific; Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Mexican and South Pacific islands. The menu is extensive, offering an option for every palate and dietary preference and the best part, the prices are very affordable.

Where is Pacific Catch? The restaurant has two locations in San Francisco, one in Inner Sunset and the other in the Marina district. Allison (A J.S.F. team member) and I visited the original location in the Marina on the popular Chestnut Street, adjacent to the cocktail hotspot, The Dorian. Pacific Catch has five other locations in the greater bay area with the Mountain View location being the newest.

What is the vibe of the Marina’s Pacific Catch? The restaurant is a lively destination with a chef’s counter to the rear, and tables packed at the entrance extending to the front sidewalk by way of large open air windows. The sidewalk seating is great for a warm day or a cold night as heaters are provided. The seating arrangement inside is cozy, I would not recommend this destination for large groups, (try the Inner Sunset location). However, once seated the tropics take over, and the feel good vibes extend to every table. Allison and I found ourselves chatting with our nearby neighbors comparing dishes and sharing travel anecdotes.

Ribs

Coconut Battered Shrimp and Korean Barbecue Ribs paired perfectly  with a cold Sapporo.

What are the food offerings? Without a doubt the food here is delicious! I now understand why the place is always packed. Inspired by coastal regions in the Pacific, , including options for non-fish lovers, vegetarians, vegans and gluten free diets. You cannot go wrong with the various menu options; Japanese rice bowls, Vietnamese sandwiches, Hawaiian poke to sublime Mexican tacos. The restaurant also offers a kids’ menu and a happy hour menu from 4- 6 pm Monday through Friday.

Salmon

The Tasty Japanese Rice Bowl with Salmon. Yum!

Tacos

The Fish Taco and sweet potato fries were standout.

Why will I be returning to Pacific Catch? The price is right! The restaurant satisfied all of my exotic taste bud cravings – plenty of spice, char grilled fish, coconut battered shrimp and Korean Barbecue ribs. JSF Insider tip: next up on my list is a Tuesday lunch or dinner visit, where all bottles of wine are half off! Pacific Catch sure knows how to immerse guests in the Island life with affordable and delicious food; all you need now is the beach! 2027 Chestnut Street, San Francisco, CA 94123. (415)440-1950.
