A Mexico Vacation To Sayulita And The Best Vacation Home Rental

Mexico Vacation Sayulita
As a Midwesterner, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to Mexico quite a bit. I say that because when I moved out East I learned that out East, the concept of a quick getaway means heading to the Caribbean.  But we Midwesterners have the option of going east or west and my family seemed to choose Mexico quite a bit. Of all the places I’ve been to South of the Border: Huatulco, Ixtapa, Puerta Vallarta, Playa Blanca, Cancun Riviera, Cabo and most recently Sayulita,  I think Sayulita definitely has the most charm, uniqueness and personality.

You’re probably wondering why Sayulita? Or where is Sayulita? Or even what is Sayulita?  I’m here to tell you that it is a charming small village about 30 minutes from Puerta Vallarta. My sister Lise (the surfer in the picture below) had been before so she recommended it when she and her boyfriend (now hubby) suggested we go to Mexico for the Thanksgiving week. What a wonderful idea. I immediately was on board and in for a fun, relaxing getaway. We rented a house, which I had never done before, and it worked out great. We had a gorgeous three-bedroom house with a pool just one short block from the beach. The info for the house rental is below. We had a wonderful experience so I’d highly recommend renting if you’re considering Sayulita. Saylita, Mexico.

Compadres House Rental (Where we stayed) – I found this house online through the town’s website.  And it was great.  Owned by a family in California, the house was in excellent shape, three bedrooms, four baths with a pool and a nice kitchen, dining room and family room area. My only complaint is during the late afternoon the pool doesn’t get much sun (good amount of shade for those non-sun lovers). I would definitely go back and rent another house. It was perfect for a family or big group.

One of the draws of Sayulita is its amazing beach. Surfers LOVE it. I attempted to surf, but there were too few days with great waves. Plus, I got quite comfortable reading and chilling on the beach so I was a bit too lazy to attempt to paddle out and surf back after trying a few days.

My sister Lise (the surfer), love this casual shot after a day at the beach!
