During a recent trip to Napa I visited the Carneros Inn to dine at their incredible The Farm Restaurant. The entire visit was unbelievable starting with the tour of the hotel (read more here) to the entire dining experience.

The gorgeous dining room At The Farm Restaurant. Although it was beautiful outside when I visited it was hard to resist experiencing this incredible 7-course tasting menu inside this elegant, yet modern swanky dining room. When it comes to over the top experiences I love to indulge and enjoying this meal in this beautiful dining room really set the tone for a spectacular visit. Starting with incredible service, did I mention the staff here is super attentive and extremely great at their jobs to the beautiful setting…. These are the type of dining experiences that make me never want to leave a restaurant or in this case the fabulous Carneros Inn.

Our first course of Siberian Caviar with Shinko Pear, lemon creme fraiche, potato crispy cured egg yolk. This was incredible, super light and the pear was the perfect compliment to the crispy potato and salty caviar.

Second course, Lobster Carpaccio with buttermilk panna cotta, poached citrus, carrot sorbet and garden greens. This was a unique lobster creation which I really enjoyed. Although I typically don’t care for panna cotta it was a lovely sweet addition offsetting the citrus and carrot sorbet. Very unique and also quite delicious!

Third course, the Caramelized Diver Scallop with delta asparagus, Carolina Gold Rice, spanish chorizo, in a shellfish emulsion. As a scallop lover it was hard not to enjoy this dish. The Spanish Rice and chorizo was a refreshing surprise not typically served with scallops yet incredible delicious. So far we were three for three, I loved everything!

The fourth course and maybe my favorite. The Risotto with Truffles. Amazing!

The fifth course, Filet Mignon with vegetables. As a Filet lover it’s hard not to love a great Filet.

As for dessert, you’re going to have to imagine what I ate as it was devoured so quickly I was unable to get a picture. We do have to leave something as a surprise for your visit. Don’t we!
