We’ve arrived to Jordan Winery, I’m so excited for the upcoming Estate Tour!!
Where is Jordan Winery: Jordan Winery is nestled in the Alexander Valley of Sonoma County, where the iconic Jordan Winery Chateau overlooks nearly 1,200 acres of rolling hills and vineyards dedicated to agriculture, hospitality and conservation.
What sets apart Jordan Winery: Unique amongst Healdsburg wineries, more than three-quarters of the scenic estate has been preserved as natural habitat—an oasis where craggy oak trees pepper the landscape, geese and ducks swim the lakes, and rabbits and turkeys roam the hills. The property includes 112 acres of grapevines, 18 acres of olive trees, a one-acre garden, two lakes and several grazing pastures. The diversity of ecosystems on the estate encourages beneficial insects and other predators that support the sustainable farming practices.
How is the beauty of the property shared with guests: Second-generation vintner John Jordan continues to preserve the great ecological richness of this property and share its breathtaking vistas through hospitality. He has returned cattle ranching to the estate, invited conservationists to study resident and migratory birds, and appointed arborists to care for mature trees that have towered over the estate for hundreds of years. Numerous sustainability certifications have also been achieved.

How can you visit and experience Jordan Winery: There are various ways to visit Jordan Winery. One is a Library Tasting which I’ve enjoyed and is a great first entry to experiencing Jordan Winery read more about the Library Tasting here. On a most recent visit I had the pleasure of enjoying the Jordan Estate Tour & Tasting which was incredible.
What Is The Jordan Estate Tour: Journey beyond the walls of the Winery Chateau for a guided wine tour of Jordan’s breathtaking vineyards, scenic vistas, chef’s garden and more. During this tour, you ride in style to remote destinations where you’ll explore Sonoma County wine and food in the countryside where they’re grown, enjoying tastings of the current release Russian River Valley Chardonnay and Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, special vintage selections, Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil and an array of food pairing delicacies from the Jordan Winery chef. It’s the ultimate way to experience the best of Jordan Estate and our award-winning hospitality.
What To Expect During The Tour: The tour is a fabulous way to experience Behind The Scenes Jordan Winery. What I mean is you start off visiting the Garden where most of the produce served at the Winery is grown. From there you have a tasting overlooking Vineyards and the Jordan Lake followed by more touring of the Vineyards and the Estate finishing up in the most picturesque setting with 360 views of Sonoma. Follow the pictures below to see what I mean…..
First stop on the tour is to the Barrel Room. Quite possibly the most gorgeous barrel room I’ve ever seen! Every time I visit I’m still in awe….
Boarding the bus to head out on the Estate Tour. Next stop is the Jordan Garden
Jordan Executive Chef Todd Knoll in the Garden
The incredible location for our Wine & Food pairing nestled among the vineyards with spectacular Jordan Lake views shown above. Is this for real? It’s so beautiful here it feels surreal.
The food pairing with Jordan Chardonnay (my favorite), their olive oil and bread. What a delicious pairing, I’m in heaven! Btw, it’s not even 11am and this is what I’m doing. Pretty fabulous morning in Healdsburg, right?
Driving through the Estate during the tour. You have the chance to see everything from the Garden, to the Pond, through the Vineyards, to the amazing 360 degree look out vista (shown below).
The last stop on the tour. Another tasting in the magnificent vista look out point with 360 views of Sonoma. Spectacular!
The delicious Bento Box with our second pairing. It’s so gorgeous I was hesitant to eat it!
What are the details and cost: The Jordan Winery Estate Tour is offered Thursday – Monday 9:45am-12:45pm, May through October (weather permitting). The cost is $120 plus tax and is well worth the price when you consider it’s a three hour event including two separate Wine & Food pairings and the behind the scenes garden and estate tour. I highly recommend this for the more experienced Wine Enthusiast or someone open to spend a few hours getting to know a Winery a bit more than you would at a traditional 30-60 minute tasting.
Who is the Jordan Winery Winemaker: Rob Davis holds the rare distinction in California of serving as winemaker at one winery for nearly 40 years. His tremendous technical background, empirical wisdom, desire for discovery, and meticulous quality standards remain a guiding force in the vineyards and cellars at Jordan. Read more about Rob Davis here.
