Carmela & Sal

Carmela & Sal is an amazing spot in Mexico City with the most delicious food. With every bite you can taste the history of the recipes passed through generations. Chef Gabriela Ruiz Lugo does a beautiful job at preserving these traditions, while adding modern twists in the kitchen. Read more about the Carmela & Sal restaurant here.

This is my dear friend Katherine (aka Kat) and we have travelled to 12 countries together including gems such as Croatia, read my Croatia coverage here, Morocco, read my Morocco coverage here and more!  For a travel blogger, there is nothing better than a best friend you can travel the world with!

Contramar

If you’re a seafood lover like I am, Contramar is the place for you. Fresh fish and seafood is caught daily and it’s divine.  This is one of the most popular and well-known restaurants in Mexico City-owned and led by Chef Gabriela Cámara who also has a restaurant in San Francisco called Cala (which is a gem).  If you plan to visit Contramar during your visit plan AHEAD and make a reservation early!  Contramar covers an array of culinary styles which makes this place so unique and delicious. Check out the Contramar website here.

Such a beautiful spot to enjoy a lovely meal.  During our Four Seasons Mexico City stay we had a package that included daily breakfast in this stunning restaurant Zanaya, which was a fabulous perk and a lovely way to get a delicious big meal in before a day of sightseeing and adventures!
