Chicago’s Fig & Olive The Perfect Gold Coast Dining Destination
Where is Fig & Olive and why should you visit – Chicago’s Fig and Olive is located in Chicago’s Gold Coast on Oak Street just a few blocks from Michigan Avenue and a block from Barney’s New York, Hermes, and Bloomingdales…. It’s really the perfect spot for a bite in between shopping or after a day of exploring Chicago’s Michigan Avenue because of it’s fabulous location, great scene and delicious food and drinks. 104 E Oak St, Chicago, IL 60611.
The swanky 2nd floor bar. It’s beyond gorgeous. It makes you want to sit down, have a drink and bite and never leave….. Perfect for a break post Oak Street Shopping ladies!
The Lounge seating on the 2nd floor with views of the bar and the 2nd floor dining room
Where to Eat & Drink when you visit: Well, it really depends…. The beauty of Fig & Olive is that they have two floors each offering unique experienced both great for various reasons. If you visit for a Happy Hour experience (like my most recent visit) I recommend the second floor bar. Either sit at the bar (one of my favorites spots at any restaurant), the bar lounge area or else the 2nd floor dining room (shown below).
The Best Ladies Who Lunch Spot: For a “ladies who lunch visit” (which I have also done and loved) the 3rd floor is fabulous. It’s very bright and airy and has a wonderful scene and fun lively vibe to it. There is also the Terrace when it’s nice out which looks incredible!
The Burrata and Heirloom Beet Salad which was great. Besides the Burrata, this dish was quite light with a lot of vegetables which is nice for a Happy Hour menu.
The over the top Truffle Mushroom Croquette. We did not order this (what a mistake) and the team sent it over saying it was a must try as it’s one of their most popular dishes. (One of the perks when you say you’re a food blogger people make sure you don’t miss any must try’s). After experiencing this dish I see why it’s a favorite. If you love Truffle and Croquettes you MUST try this. I’m not usually a Mushroom girl and I could have ordered seconds of this gem!
A few of the appetizers we enjoyed including the assorted Crostini’s (on the left). I loved the Goat Cheese, Onion & Chive one as well as the Shrimp, Avocado, Clinantro and Tomato.
Views from the 3rd floor dining room to the 2nd floor.
The gorgeous terrace setting for summer dining
