The Best Mexican Food in San Francisco, California

 Cancun Taqueria

Cancun Taqueria has been my go-to for Mexican since I moved to SF in 2012. It’s on Mission St. and by no means fancy but I love their burritos, their chill down to earth setting and I take every guest there from out of town and everyone always loves it! What differentiates their burritos from many is they serve them with rice which I love. Check them out and see what you think! 2288 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Don Pisto’s

Lolo

Lolo is another great Mexican Restaurant. It offers sit down (vs. casual order at the counter and eat at a table). The setting is super fun, their food is great and so are their drinks. 974 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Mosto

Mosto is the sister restaurant to Tacolicious (also on this list) and just next door to Mosto. It’s a bit more of a bar feel but they do offer great food. I love the intimate setting here and they have a great happy hour Monday through Friday from 5-7pm. 741 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Puerto Allegre

Puerto Allegre is hands down the spot that I dine the MOST on this list. I go here by myself if I’m craving a margarita, chips & salsa (complimentary) and just a low key super chill atmosphere. I love to sit at the bar by myself or even eat outside. I’ve gone on an afternoon for a late lunch and found myself there until happy hour which is Monday through Friday 4-6pm. MNargarit’as are discounted and they also have some other food that’s pretty cheap, under $10 per option. This is family-owned by two brother s and a sister (you know I LOVE supporting family-owned businesses) with great food, service and an authentic atmosphere. 546 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Puerto Allegre San Francisco

The great outside seating they have on lively Valencia St.  These tables are hard to get at night unless you come early but I’ve had luck during the day for a late lunch.

Puerto Allegre San Francisco

My typical views having happy hour margaritas (offered Monday through Friday 4-6pm) at the bar with their yummy endless chips and sala.

Views of me enjoying dinner by self at the bar. Also, their Fajitas are my favorite dish on their menu. I get them every time. Usually the chicken sometimes half chicken and half shrimp. I’m not sure what their secret is but they’re the best fajitas I’ve ever had.

Streetside dining enjoying my usual, Chicken Fajitas, and a margarita enjoying the lively Valencia St. scene.

 Taqueria

It goes without saying that Taqueria is one of the most adored Mexican spots in San Francisco. They’re known for their burritos and really everything they make is delicious!
