See below for The Best San Francisco Luxury Hotels. After living in San Francisco for 10+ years and now Healdsburg (1.5 years) I love visiting San Francisco for a staycation or an excuse to enjoy a luxury hotel getaway!
The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel
If you’re looking for a luxurious hotel to stay in during a trip to San Francisco, you must stay at The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel. I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Cliff Hotel myself and I was blown away. Check out my blog post on My Stay at the The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel San Francisco 495 Geary St, San Francisco, CA 94102
With stunning views and luxurious rooms, The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel suites are THE best. Check out the Suite I stayed in below.
Fairmont San Francisco
When I think of iconic San Francisco Hotels Fairmont Hotel San Francisco is the first hotel that comes to mind. Not only because of its rich history, but because of the luxurious experience it offers its guests with each visit. From the moment you arrive and see the majestic exterior, and the luxurious customer service you are immediately greeted with. 950 Mason St, San Francisco, CA 94108.
As soon as you walk in you are greeted by such a grand entrance in the lobby…

Truly a view you cannot beat! Another fabulous Fairmont I recommend visiting is Fairmont Olympic Hotel Seattle, which you can see more about on my blog.
Four Seasons San Francisco
I had the pleasure of visiting Four Seasons San Francisco for a little R & R staycation. Prior to my stay, I had only visited for drinks or a bite to eat at their restaurant, MKT, never as a guest of the hotel. It was an amazing stay that you can read about on my blog here, My Fabulous Staycation at Four Seasons San Francisco. 757 Market St. San Francsico, CA.
The best views are here at the Four Seasons San Francisco from the places you eat, to the places you sleep…

Intercontinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco
I was immediately speechless upon arriving for my Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Stay because of the glorious entrance. It almost feels like you’re arriving to a different country due to the elegant and historic charm. Read more about my stay at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel here.
It truly feels like you are taking a step back in time in such a luxurious way… however this stay does have the modern touch I love as well.
Palace Hotel San Francisco
The Palace Hotel is such a beautiful place to stay in the city, and is definitely one of the best San Francisco Luxury Hotels. You feel like royalty with the stunning gold designs throughout the Hotel and the rich decor and history.
During my last stay at the Palace Hotel, I enjoyed a Beautiful Afternoon Tea at the Palace Hotel for those of you tea lovers (like me) who enjoy the fun experience in the historic and elegant Palace Hotel setting. Be sure to make a reservation as this is one of the most popular spots for tea in San Francisco. 2 New Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94105.
The stunning lobby foyer of The Palace Hotel. This is so beautiful that upon walking in, you really need to take a breath and a few moments to take it all in!
If you are looking for an iconic San Francisco event, I suggest trying the Signature Tea at the historic Palace Hotel San Francisco. The tea takes place in their Garden Court, and since the early 1900’s guests have been enjoying this lovely experience.
The Palace Hotel San Francisco is also a beautiful spot to visit during the Holidays if you have the chance!
The Ritz Carlton San Francisco
You can imagine my excitement for an upcoming stay with The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco. There’s so much to love about this stay, it almost doesn’t feel real. Truly one of the best San Francisco Luxury Hotels! I highly recommend the Club Level (literally the BEST of the BEST) which offers guests a private lounge throughout the day for snacks, drinks and of course breakfast service. 600 Stockton St, San Francisco, CA 94108.
The lounge bar which is one of my favorite spots for a mid day lunch, coffee or cocktail in this swanky evening setting.
Daylight views of the lounge. Read more about the fabulous lounge and my experience on the full post here.
