Black Stallion Winery Media & Blogger Event

Wine events are back and better than ever! My company, Emily Martin Communications & Events, hosted our second post-covid event at Black Stallion Winery. Black Stallion Winery is a prestigious Napa Valley gem that prides themselves on their Cabernet Sauvignon. That being said, they also have a fabulous Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Rosé of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and more…

Media guests and bloggers were lucky to spend a Sunday afternoon tasting their stunning blends, learning from Winemaker Ralf Holdenried, and enjoying the incredible garden during a tasty luncheon. Learn more about this wonderful event below and enjoy the stunning photos by Elise Aileen Photography, a photographer that always gives us beautiful memories of the events.

The Black Stallion Winery Tour

This stunning Black Stallion Winery is just an unbelievable spot. This winery is located on the grounds of a former historic equestrian center. Hence, the presence of this beautiful statue found on their property!

As we arrived at the fabulous Black Stallion Winery, we greeted guests with the tastiest Black Stallion Winery Rosé of Syrah from Napa Valley. It is a rich and fruity delight that I enjoyed also while Celebrating National Rosé Day & My Birthday Party.

The winery tour started with Winemaker Ralf Holdenreid sharing the history and beauty of this land. There is a stunning entryway with beautiful trees, which is just one of the stunning aspects of this land. Crazy to think there used to be a horse arena and race tracks where the vineyards now currently sit.

After enjoying the beautiful weather, land, and rosè outside, Ralf then took us on an exclusive barrel room tour. It was so interesting learning about the Black Stallion Winery Winemaking process.

As you see, it is common that micro-lots may be fermented in small tanks made of wood, concrete, or steel. This allows Ralf to look at the different batches and find the best grapes possible for the Black Stallion Winery.

Black Stallion Winery Seated Lunch

After our tour we enjoyed lunch in this Black Stallion Winery private garden (typically just for guest use staying on-site) area is unlike any other. With sights of the pool, vineyard, and trees it was magical for a wine tasting and lunch.

Flowers by Karen Brown were the perfect touch to our table setting. What a beautiful set of arrangements they were!

I mean… is this real life? Just look at this view!

The 4-course lunch was delicious! We enjoyed a delicious salad to start, entreés with sides, and dessert that were each paired with a designated Black Stallion Winery Wine.

To start our lunch we enjoyed a bartlett pear and black mission fig salad with wild arugula, frisée, red onion, candied pecans, and feta. This refreshing bit paired beautifully with the Black Stallion Winery 2019 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

Guests chose between a pan-seared petrale sole, zinfandel-braised short ribs with roasted shallots, or a butternut squash risotto with parmesan and goat cheese. The fabulous Black Stallion Winery Wines that we enjoyed during this entreé course included the 2019 Napa Valley Chardonnay, 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2016 Transcendent.

Wine and friends, what is better than that? I loved enjoying various Black Stallion Winery Wines, views of the stunning land, and the amazing company of bloggers and media personnel. This lunch was just fabulous!

Look at that stunning view behind me of Black Stallion Winery’s vineyards. Gorgeous!

What an event! Thank you to Winemaker Ralf Holdenreid and the amazing Black Stallion Winery team for hosting this event with me. Learning about the Black Stallion Winery history and enjoying the beautiful property, tour, and lunch made for a wonderful Sunday afternoon. I can’t wait to be back!
