California: San Francisco’s Tempus Fugit Spirits

Tempus Fugit Spirits delicious Absinthe & spectacular San Francisco rooftop views!

As an avid cocktail drinker (remember my favorite drink is a Gin Gimlet!) you’d think I would know about Absinthe but it wasn’t until a recent Tempus Fugit Spirits tasting that I learned more about the history of Absinthe and how delicious it really is! I had always thought Absinthe was for cocktail use only, rather than a tasty smooth spirit enjoyable alone as well. I was proven wrong at this tasting where I enjoyed various types of Absinthe ranging from a Vermouth to a Vermouth Canatto, Grand Classico and a Cacao amongst a few….. Each variation had it’s own distinct taste and flavor. One of my favorite’s the Cacao was reminiscent of Caramel with it’s smooth, rich flavor.  What a fun way to learn about a new type of Spirit, enjoy the range of flavors while visiting The Anchor Distillery where the event was held. Another one of the best kept secrets in San Francisco is their beyond amazing tasting room (pictures below) with a deck and fabulous San Francisco and Bay views. Even if you may not enjoy spirits or beer as much as the J.S.F. does, a visit to the distillery for the spectacular views and private event space should be on your to do list! 1705 Mariposa St, San Francisco, CA 94107.
