Where is The MacPhail Tasting Room: MacPhail Tasting Room is located in Sebastopol’s ‘The Barlow’ which is best described as the ‘best of Local. Food. Art and Wine.’ This is a destination you will visit and not want to leave. It feels like a small modern hip village with Restaurants, Wineries, Galleries and other cool retailers you will want to discover. Some of the other wineries to visit include Wind Gap Wines, Kosta Browne, and LaFollette Wines.
The awesome patio outside the tasting room with fabulous views of The Barlow with an over all chill feel that will make you never want to go home! We stayed 2-3 hours just at MacPhail so I’m not exaggerating.
The adorable Radio Flyer’s which are a part of the MacPhail Wines story. James, the Wine Maker had a sentimental shot of his daughters in the Radio Flyer (see picture and story here) so when he launched the Winery he wanted the Radio Flyers representing the family feel of the brand.
The awesome MacPhail Winery team including Wine Maker James’ Wife Kerry and her adorable dog Zuni
The amazing Mac Phail Chardonnay. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this. It’s made with Pratt Vineyard Vine Hill Road Chardonnay fermented Sur lie in French Oak for 17 months. It’s super smooth with a subtle Oak taste and amazing feminine. This wine is described by Winemaker Jim as “Chardonnay with aromas of white peach and lemon curd, citrus blossoms and gardenias and for the romantic, white rose petal. Bright, lively acid with oak that hides a bit, subtle but insistent. Flavors of white peach and not so puckery grapefruit are framed in a medium-bodied wine that is flat out refreshing.”
The Terroir Lounge with various soils from 4 different Vineyards where MacPhail grapes are sourced.
Me and my friend Marysa loving our first visit the MacPhail Tasting Room. We were spoiled by the amazing wines, the awesome setting and the super cool team who hung out with us for a few hours (no joke we may have over stayed our welcome!)
I have found my happy place! Between the fabulous wines, the awesome team and the relaxing atmosphere I’m hooked on the MacPhail Tasting Room.
