The Unbelievable Bar & Cocktails At Mourad San Francisco
What is Mourad Restaurant: Mourad is a modern interpretation of a cuisine deeply rooted in the past. The restaurant pays homage to those roots, showcasing the rich and vibrant flavors of Morocco in new ways that harmonize with the fresh, local, artisanal ingredients, and the spirit of innovation of Northern California.
Where is it located: Located in the newly renovated PacBell Building. 140 Montgomery St. San Francisco, CA.
Awesome Collin who created all the delicious cocktails I enjoyed during my visit. He’s amazing!
What is their bar program like: The Bar is run by Bar Manager Anthony Parks. Parks, a longtime San Francisco resident and previously at acclaimed bars BDK and Bourbon & Branch, has introduced a new list of cocktails to complement the flavors of Lahlou’s Moroccan-influenced California cuisine.
What are the cocktails like: The restaurant’s new cocktails are dynamic and experimental, and blur the lines between the bar and kitchen. With names like Umami & Mint, Herbs & Chili and Coffee & Clove, cocktails make use of ingredients and techniques from Mourad’s savory and sweet dishes. Parks and the Mourad bar staff are excited to “raise the bar” with this new menu, employing the same level of creativity and exacting technique displayed in the kitchen.
What sets this apart from other bar menus: In addition to the new cocktail list, Parks has developed a Tasting Flight inspired by the restaurant’s tasting menu, intended to illustrate a range of flavors and techniques from his list. The flight comes as a trio of samples served in the same handmade ramekins used for the restaurant’s la’acha family style dinners, and includes the Smoke & Pear, Peat & Coconut, and Curry & Milk.

How does the bar menu compliment the amazing food: While developing the new cocktails, Parks spent time alongside Chef Lahlou in the kitchen in order to integrate some of Lahlou’s signature elements into his drinks. For example, Curry & Anthony Park’s Cocktail Tasting Flight at Mourad Milk incorporates the curry spice mix Lahlou perfected at Aziza, blended with a ginger-vanillalychee milk, London Dry Gin, salted pistachio, and topped with a honey tuile made by Mourad pastry chef Melissa Chou.
A shot of the various cocktails I tried. I can officially say I endorse every cocktail on their menu (since I likely tried it).
When did this new cocktail menu debut: It debuted in early September, and evolve every 2-3 months, featuring full-size handcrafted cocktails in addition to a Tasting Flight.
My favorite view of the bar with the gorgeous bar as the back drop to these delicious cocktails!
Cheers to Chef Mourad, Bar Manager Anthony and your team on a fabulous cocktail program. There is really is something here for everyone…. Unique, one of a kind cocktails for the adventurous drinker or classics made perfectly for those wanting an oldie but goodie. Thanks for a fabulous visit, until next time…..
