Getting ready for a long weekend at Pebble Beach Food & Wine requires a lot of prep work. By this I mean, a spray tan, blowout and of course getting my nails done. A girl does have to look her best when meeting some of the most acclaimed Chefs & Winemakers in the Country…. So, what better place to get a Deluxe Manicure/Pedicure than Hayes Valley’s most charming nail salon, LUX SF.

In addition to this immense honor, LUX SF was one of two San Francisco salons recently recognized within Vogue’s “Guide to the Country’s Best Pedicures”.

So, what’s so special about LUX SF and why all the awards? I’ll tell you…. Going into the Mani/Pedi I was told to allow an hour and a half appointment.  I thought, that’s quite some time especially considering these days you’re rushed into and out of a mani/pedi so the salons can quickly get as many customers in as possible.  You will experience the opposite at LUX SF. Everything from your arrival to the nail color selection is peaceful. The moment I sat down, I was asked what drink I wanted? Water, wine, bubbly… Already I knew, I was in heaven

Both the Deluxe Manicure & Deluxe Pedicure treatments include paraffin which I do so rarely I forgot how amazing it feels. Your hands and feet are covered in warm mittens enclosing the warm paraffin which is then left on for 10 minutes or so. Talk about relaxing, I was ready for a nap. After that you’re given a massage for both hands and feet before the nail polish and treatment continues.  I also learned that LUX SF includes SuperGoop an SPF 40 Forever Young Hand Cream as part of all manicure treatments in an effort to minimize the appearance of aging (free of charge).  

Overall my entire experience was heavenly. The service was friendly and the vibe of the salon was super calm, relaxing and luxurious.
