As someone who loves Fried Chicken, it seems essential to share some of my favorite San Francisco Fried Chicken spots. As always with any Top 10 list there is no order to this list. Everyone that is included are all equally fabulous so check them out and let me know what you think. Also, if I’m missing any please email me and give me your suggestions for spots I should try. Nopa

The newest addition to this list is Nopa who just recently launched their Friend Chicken during Covid-19. This dish has never been on their menu before (at least not that I know of and I dine there 2-3 x a month) and it’s amazing. Even with carryout where sometimes things don’t travel perfectly the Nopa Fried Chicken does. It’s extremely crispy, with a yummy spicy flavor to the extremely perfectly crunchy skin. And they serve it with honey with a subtle spicy kick to it as well. As I said this Fried Chicken is divine! So good I’ll be celebrating it for this year’s birthday with my best friends and a socially distanced birthday dinner!

Ungrafted

A newer spot in San Francisco with killer fried Chicken is Ungrafted (a wine bar). The best part about this is the Chef is an old friend of mine, Chef Robert Vallejos. We met during his days as the Pastry Chef at Spruce and he’s amazing. So is the delicious Fried Chicken he shares with guests at Ungrafted. 2419 3rd St, San Francisco, CA 94107.

Wayfare Tavern

Those of you who love fried chicken as much as I do will know that Wayfare Tavern is known for their fried chicken. It’s as much of a staple as their popover so hurry in to experience this delicious dish and see for yourself.  558 Sacramento St, San Francisco, CA 94111.

Rich Table

The Rich Table fried chicken is one of the most special dishes on this list as it’s on Chef Sarah Rich’s secret menu which is not offered daily. Grill at The St. Regis San Francisco

Even if the St. Regis is in one of the most glamorous hotels in town and not where you would imagine finding incredible fried chicken, this delicious fried chicken will surprise you. Visit The Grill to see for your self.  St. Regis Hotel. 125 3rd St, San Francisco, CA 94103.

 The Keystone

4505 Burgers & BBQ

Even though I can’t resist the 4505 Burgers & BBQ Cheeseburger (read more about their Burger on my Top 10 San Francisco Burger list here) or BBQ, when it’s fried chicken day that’s what I order. Their fried chicken is delicious, with a yummy crunchy crust (just how I like it) and pairs perfectly with their french fries and of course a beer.  705 Divisadero St, San Francisco, CA 94117.

Brenda’s Meat & Three

Known as one of the best BBQ spots in the city, Brenda’s Meat & Three’s fried chicken is not to be missed. Especially with the incredible biscuit, it comes with and your choice of sides. I recommend coleslaw!! If you are really hungry go ahead and try the ribs, they are also divine! 919 Divisadero St, San Francisco, CA 94115

Blue Plate

Blue Plate is what will entice this girl to drive 25 minutes across down. I live in Pac Heights so Bernal Heights is quite a hike but it’s totally worth it to enjoy this incredible fried chicken at their chef’s counter. The Chef’s Counter is my favorite spot on the joint. You know me, I love to watch the action and when I dined at the Chef’s counter I was able to meet the Chef De Cuisine Chef Sean who is awesome making some killer fried chicken!! 3218 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Horsefeather

Another Nopa gem just down the street from 4505 Meats is Horsefeather. When I dined I was really blown away by all of their food and of course, once I saw the fried chicken on the menu I tried it and fell in love. 528 Divisadero St, San Francisco, CA 94117.

Maybecks

A new gem to the San Francisco dining scene is the Marina’s Maybecks. I had this delicious Buttermilk battered Fried Chicken at their reopening party and was blown away. I’m not a huge pickled veggies fan but this chicken plus the Buttermilk Dressing are both delicious! . 3213 Scott St, San Francisco, CA 94123
