1313 Main Restaurant & Wine Bar Napa Valley

As you probably already know, I’m not only a huge foodie but also a huge wine lover. So you can imagine my excitement for an upcoming dinner at 1313 Main. If you’re not familiar with 1313 Main, listen up and get familiar quickly.

1313 Main is a fairly new restaurant in Napa California owned by Al Jabarin, founder of Napa-based wine retailer CalWine.com.  Chef Adam Ross brings extensive experience to 1313 from well-known restaurants including Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc and The Restaurant at The Meadowood Napa Valley.  Their menu offers something for every type of diner – from a bar menu of familiar favorites given a Napa Valley twist, to a la carte small/medium/large dishes, plus a five course, highly affordable tasting menu (food: $70; optional wines: $55) highlighting every aspect of Chef Adam’s mastery of technique and understanding of flavors. The amazing food is matched with Advanced Sommelier Jordan’s impeccable, surprising wine pairings selected from their cellar that houses over 2,000 label offerings. Like I said, there are perks to being owned by one of the first online wine retailers in California!

During my visit I enjoyed the tasting menu which was divine. We started with some bubbles, always a fun way to kick off a meal. I had never tried the Andre Clouet Brut, however, thanks to Jordan, we were in great hands. The champagne was light and crispy, just how I love it! Before I knew it our first appetizer had arrived. The Chef sent over one of the most beautiful tomatoes to start as well as another surprise. Below is the Tasting Menu Dinner I experienced during my visit

BelgaThe gorgeous place setting and table presentation

BelgaCherry tomato served on the vine, coated in arbequina olive oil and dusted with a duo of maldon salt and basil

BelgaA potato and fresh horseradish croquette served over a puree of sorrel garnished with creme fraiche and fresh picked dill

BelgaZuckarman Farms Asparagus Salad which was quite possibly the most gorgeous salad I’ve ever eaten.  It tasted so flavorful, yet light and gentle just like the salad’s appearance.

BelgaThe Citrus Cured Salmon dish was over the top fabulous! There were various small salmon bites, each created a unique taste and experience. I loved the presentation, the delicate size and the flavorful dipping sauces.

BelgaHen Egg Raviolo which was literally life changing! I don’t remember the last time I voluntarily ate a raw egg (I’m more of an egg white girl to be perfectly honest). This was so divine I will be returning for seconds and crossing my fingers Chef Adam still has this on the menu! The green peas had an extremely fresh, crunchy taste to them offering the perfect crunch off setting the gentle soft yoke in the Hen Egg Raviolo.

BelgaAmish Lamb Saddle paired with a Sangiovese. Although it was hard to imagine having room for anything at this point in the meal the small portion of Lamb was a fabulous main course.   The Wine pairing was lovely, bringing out the flavor in the meat and the wine.

1313 MainWhite Chocolate Cremeux was the perfect conclusion to this fabulous meal. The Cremeux was served with Rasberries, Cream and the most gorgeous purple flowers imagineable. There was also a cluster of dried fruit offering a crunchy bite to the super smooth silky Cremeux.

As evident from the above pictures and narrative 1313 Main is a Napa MUST TRY! I’m not only saying that because their wine collection is enough to curl up to and enjoy for many many years but they truly are the whole package. Between their exquisite talent in the kitchen led by Chef Adam Ross and their Wine & Cocktail program led by Advanced Sommelier Jordan Nova, the team is a force to be reckoned with.  The service and level of detail shown in every thing they do from the restaurant décor to the place settings, to the food and wine is truly hard to find and something you don’t see every day. I hope you’re able to visit 1313 Main and experience the fabulous food, wines, service and spectacular hospitality they offer. Please let me know your thoughts and if you make it in for their yummy brunch before I do (it’s on my bucket list) be sure to experience their killer Bloody Mary Bar and their sweet and savory treats I keep hearing about. 1313 Main St. Napa CA 94559.
