Stunning Views at Pence Vineyards
Shown above are views of Pence Vineyards. This is such a beautiful winery covered not only with rolling hills of grapes but also cattle and horses. They even have a beautiful stable at the top of the vineyard (this field also doubles as a helicopter landing spot which I witnessed during my visit!).
Pence Winery & Vineyards feels almost make-believe; it’s that beautiful, massive, and impressive. What I mean is why would you ever want to leave these beautiful vineyard views with stunning wild animals and horses throughout. Plus, after being blown away by the stunning vineyards, the barns… getting to taste their lovely wines is just icing on the cake!
One of the outdoor seating areas where guests can experience wine tastings and this is where lots of the wine club events take place.
Some of the horses who happen to have some of the best views at the winery.
A Beautiful Lunch on the Winery
After our vineyard tour, we joined Blair and Dianne Pence for lunch in their home which is on the winery property. Talk about a lovely intimate afternoon. I can’t think of a better way to learn more about the family history, the vineyards, the horses, as well as share the current Pence Wines assortments with the family.
It’s experiences like this that make me realize how lucky I am and how much I LOVE my job! Thanks again Diane and Blair for sharing your home, your time, and your passion for Pence with me during this visit.
The spread was so beautiful it really was the most magical Friday afternoon sharing wonderful wines with new friends in this relaxing, intimate environment in my favorite wine region of California.
The Tasting
The line up of Pinot Noir wines we tasted. They were each lovely in their own way. Seriously, the wines here are elegant, full body with each one having its own unique characteristics making it hard to choose a favorite. I also love the beautiful artwork on the label. Just another thing Pence does so so well!
Of course, we tried the Chardonnays which were also incredible. Super balanced and refined showcasing the terroir of Sta. Rita Hills.
Wine Pairings at Lunch
We enjoyed the Pence Rose with lunch which I loved. It was super light and refreshing, perfect for this summer meal during this warm weather. Pence Wines only make a small amount of the Rose so warning you can’t get it year-round. If you see it buy a lot before they sell out!
Garden and BBQ views where our delicious Salmon was grilled.
A huge thank you to Blair and Dianne Pence for their warm, over the top generous hospitality. We had such a lovely time and I will always treasure the vineyard tour we had followed by this extremely lovely, intimate, and delicious lunch. Thanks for sharing your Friday afternoon with me and my guest, your passion, amazing wines, and company!
