The Riddler San Francisco

Ladies and gents, listen up! San Francisco has a new wine bar and it’s here to stay… The Riddler is the newest addition to Hayes Valley and judging from the initial first few months it has been open and their popularity it will not be going anywhere. The Welcome

I always love a welcome that involves Champagne. You basically had me at hello.

The cheese plate comes with a mini baguette of french bread adorably wrapped in butcher paper and this charming red and white twine. I mean, how DAMN CUTE. Love it!

The Food

When this delicious caviar came to our table I figured I would try it (to be polite of course) and save the rest for my friend Lizzy. I ended up eating it all. It was so light and delicious paired with the Crème fraîche and the light, salty, crispy potato chips. Champagne and caviar really are a girl’s best friend…..

Voila a little caviar, Crème fraîche and some chives. Heavenly!

The lovely General Manager who took such great care of us.  Thanks again for spoiling us rotten.

The amazing tater tot waffle. This sounded a bit unusual to me and after ordering it I fell in love.

The Wines

Trying this lovely Soter Brut Rose. I always love a super cry Champagne and this Rose was just that and beyond delicious.

Another one of the amazing sommeliers who took very good care of us. I personally love to visit a restaurant or wine bar and get to chat with the sommelier about their wine list, some of their recommendations, and make it more of a personal connection. We had just that experience which was partly why we kept staying for more and trying other delicious wines.

Another fun sparkling wine to try made of Gruner Veltliner. This was the first time I had a Sparkling Gruner and it was very nice.

Quite possibly my favorite item on the menu. #TheRiddler100Club is a society you can aspire to join by ordering 100 glasses of wine at The Riddler. Hey, I got about 5 of 6% of the way there. Stay tuned as I make my way to The Riddler 100 Club membership.
