With masks and gloves, the staff immediately takes my temperature before helping me get settled. I am always relieved to find hotel staff that are diligent with their COVID precautions.

Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the Fairmont Sonoma’s charming entrance and a sunny day! There various outdoor seating areas are perfect during COVID plenty of outdoor spaces to socially distance.

The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn’s design and decor is so aesthetically pleasing. It is definitely one of the most beautiful places to stay in Sonoma.

Once the staff takes all of the necessary precautions, me and my girl Ernestine (aka Ernie) head to our room! She is always happy to accompany me on fun hotel stays and was a happy girl at The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn.

As the holidays approach, the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn sets up their decor. My favorite part is this gorgeous tree. Having such a big and bright Christmas tree in the main area almost makes me forget the strange and crazy year we’re having.

Throughout the whole stay, the Fairmont Sonoma provides plenty of hand sanitizer and helps enforce social distancing. Even Ernestine (aka Ernie) can follow along!

As the sun starts to set, you can see just how gorgeous and relaxing this hotel is. I just love the string lights they have adorning their cozy outdoor seating area.

As you can imagine, I am ecstatic to receive a complimentary bottle of bubbly upon my arrival to my room. This one is a sparkling wine by local winery Gloria Ferrer which is made in partnership with the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn.

The fire place is so easy to get started. You simply light the whole bag of kindling provided and voila, you have a beautiful fire in your room!

There is nothing better than kicking back with a delicious hot meal and a glass of local wine. After a long day, a burger is just what I need. Not to mention how cozy this roaring fire is!

My stay was timed perfectly as one of my favorite local restaurants, the girl & the fig launched a NEW PopUp NoodleSpring, so I carried that out and enjoyed their Fried Chicken Sandwich (shown), as well as some ribs, and delicious green beans.  Thanks again to NoodleSpring for spoiling me with your amazing eats. Speaking of girl & the fig, read my Interview with Founder & Owner Sondra Bernstein here.

Ernestine and I enjoying some coffee on the private balcony. The view from my room is gorgeous and the fall leaves are enchanting this time of year. I love taking my little pup on little vacations like these, she has just as much fun as I do and is the best company!

The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn is near some wonderful areas to bike around. Getting a morning workout in is the best way to round out a weekend getaway especially with my new Specialized Bike (which I adore).

Taking a dip in the pool is such a treat! The Fairmont Sonoma’s ability to safely maintain a degree of normalcy in its operation is impressive. Many other hotels have their pools and spas closed during these unprecedented times so I appreciated this afternoon dip immensely. And, the pool is heated so it’s perfect during the cooler months in California (like November) when I visited during my COVID stay.

More bubbles and cozy fires because the Fairmont Sonoma knows exactly the kind of R&R I need!

Lastly, the pool and spa area looks even more inviting after dark. I mean, who wouldn’t want to take a dip and unwind in a pool-like this?

Thank you to the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa for showing me such a gorgeous and comfortable stay. I am already looking forward to the next time I’ll have the pleasure of staying here!
