About the Winery
Hamel Family Wines is a winery located in Sonoma that has one of the most high-end luxurious tasting experiences I have ever enjoyed. However, by luxurious, I don’t mean stuffy. In a very elegant, understated fashion, The Family Family Wines team has every detail well thought out catering to their guest having an unbelievable experience.
I have been twice the first time enjoying the food & wine pairing in the private dining room and the second time in experiencing a food & wine pairing in the cave. After the hour and a half tasting, we were so relaxed and not ready to leave that we ended up staying enjoying another glass or two of wine on the patio watching the sunset.
It really is hard to put into words but after you visit Hamel Family Wines, you will want to go back again and again. And of course, their biodynamic wines are incredible (which is a must), or I would not be recommending the winery. 15401 Sonoma Hwy, Sonoma, CA 95476
The picturesque tasting lounge with stunning lofted ceilings and huge windows to enjoy the beautiful vineyard views from.
The private library where tastings and events are held. I did a tasting in here during my first visit and it’s stunning with sliding doors looking out to the vineyard.

Views of our tasting during my first visit to Hamel Family Wines.
Enjoying a vineyard tour before heading into the cave for our food and wine pairing.
The gorgeous entrance into the caves.
The stunning dining room located within the cave where we enjoyed our food & wine pairing meal.
The first course was ricotta cheese and crackers. The cheese was covered in sea salt which the chef catches himself along the coast. What a fabulous and delicious touch.
Chef Clinton Huntsman is incredible. He created the entire tasting menu and hand-delivered each item explaining the ingredients and inspiration for each dish. He really made the food & wine pairing so memorable and also very delicious!
Every detail at Hamel Family Wines is stunning. Honestly, even this place setting looks perfect. Plus, I loved the look and design of their tasting notes and literature. Then, I learned it was done by designer Kun Fulke. How incredible, he’s such a brilliant designer and I adore his style.
The delicious Hamel Family Wines Sauvignon Blanc. This was lovely with a rich creamy taste to it and not too tart or acidic as some Sauvignon Blanc wines are.
A huge thanks to the Hamel Family Wines team, especially Hospitality Director Dawn Agnew and Chef Clinton Huntsman. Thank you for hosting me at the Winery and sharing all of your passion, experience, and delicious food and wine. Truly, Hamel Family Wines is like no other. It’s a Sonoma gem I adore and any wine & food lover must experience.
