For those of you who may not be aware, Washington is not only known for wines in their well-known regions such as Walla Walla there is also a region even closer to Seattle that you may not know about in Woodinville Washington. This Spring I took my sister on a birthday getaway from Seattle to Woodinville Washington and spent the weekend wine tasting in Woodinville. After 2 days exploring the region, I wanted to share a Guide to Woodinville’s Wine Country. See more below!
A Maurice Cellars Tasting Room
Another tasting room we stumbled upon which was just down the street from Mark Ryan Winery was A Maurice Cellar’s Tasting Room. The setting is beyond charming with a great assortment of uniques with some fun varietals and a lovely team. 14463 Redmond-Woodinville Rd NE, Woodinville, WA 98072
Me and sister Lise who lives in Seattle. We took a 24 hour getaway from Seattle to Woodinville to celebrate her birthday. We had a blast wine tasting. We stayed at a local Woodinville Hotel, The Willows Lodge which is perfect if you want a luxury hotel within walking distance of Wine Country.
Mark Ryan Winery
Another tasting room I highly recommend during a Woodinville Wine Country visit is Mark Ryan Winery. With some of the most highly scoring wines in the region, true wine lovers and enthusiasts will love this chic tasting room, great wines and fun lively setting. 14475 Redmond-Woodinville Rd NE, Woodinville, WA 98072
I love the mix of wine and rock and roll throughout the tasting room.
While you’re wine tasting it’s important to have a hearty meal to help offset all the heavy wine consuming. Hollywood Tavern was the first spot we visited on day one of tasting for lunch and it was great. The vibe is pretty casual with a great outdoor patio which is perfect for a drink or bites to eat. 14501 Redmond-Woodinville Rd NE, Woodinville, WA 98072
Heritage Restaurant & Bar
The other amazing lunch we enjoyed in Woodinville while Wine Tasting was at Heritage Restaurant & Bar. This is for sure a destination every foodie must enjoy. The restaurant is owned by Chef Bre who’s also a fellow midwesterner who was beyond friendly, attentive and had the most creative menu and delicious food. We loved everything we enjoyed and I highly recommend this not be missed when visiting Woodinville Washington. 14450 Redmond-Woodinville RD NE, STE 101B, Woodinville, WA 98072.
Lise and I are all smiles enjoying the fabulous Sparkling Wine tasting we enjoyed with lunch.
These biscuits were life-changing. Another must when you dine at Heritage Bar & Restaurant.
Chef & Owner Bre sharing a fabulous Lemon Meringue dessert with a homemade graham cracker crust. This was spectacular!
Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery
Chateau Ste. Michelle is one of the largest most iconic wineries in the region which is not to be missed. When I visited I enjoyed a blending class which was beyond educational, delicious and an experience I would recommend for those wine lovers wanting a deeper understanding of winemaking. Read the full Chateau Ste. Michelle Blending class blog post here.
Goose Ridge Winery
Another tasting room with great wines located in Woodinville is Goose Ridge Winery. With lovely wines, an attentive staff this was another great spot we enjoyed! In addition to wine, they make cellar which is great if you have someone who’s not a big wine lover with you. 9 N 2nd Ave, Walla Walla, WA 99362
Airfield Estates Winery
Another low key tasting room with great wines and a super friendly team is Airfile Estates Winery. They have an interesting history (tying back to Air Fields). 14450 Woodinville Redmond #109, Woodinville, WA 98072
