Something you may not know about me is that my grandmother was the first generation from Norway. She moves to the states when she was 16 and as a result, since a young age, I’ve been fortunate to travel to Norway to visit our Norwegian family. It’s been a very special part of my childhood and adult life. Over the years I’ve probably visited 15 times and with each trip, I fall more in love with the country, my family there and all Norway has to offer.
This past summer my Mom, Robert, and I went to Stavanger to see family then Robert and I continued to Oslo to explore. This was my second trip to Oslo, and Robert’s first so it was a lot of fun being back and showing him around Norway’s capital. During this visit, we stayed at Hotel Bristol. This is one of the MOST iconic hotels in Oslo, Norway, you won’t want to miss, and one of the most central locations in Oslo. Continue reading to see My Fabulous Stay at the Hotel Bristol in Oslo.
Hotel Bristol
The luxurious, elegant, and unique Hotel Bristol was established in 1920. Since it is in one of the most central locations in Oslo, it makes getting around the city so easy. You can enjoy restaurants and activities that are within walking distance or just a short ride away. Generally, Oslo is quite a manageable city by foot or bike. During this trip renting bikes or scooters was quite popular and a great way to get around the city without taking a taxi or bus.
As soon as you walk in you are welcomed with luxury and a beautiful chandelier in the middle of the lobby.
The bar is also a fun little spot to have a drink before or after a night out in the town.
Beautiful Rooms
As soon as you walk into your luxurious room you can see beautiful city views. The rooms have a very historic and grand vibe to them with beautiful elegant interior design.
Tea and Dining
With our Hotel Bristol reservation breakfast was included (this was quite common in Norway and Sweden) and we loved it. They have one of those hotel breakfasts or really brunches that you dream about. Not to mention the restaurant itself is stunning from top to bottom, with so much attention to detail.
Breakfast was always a big highlight of the day since they had so much delicious food to offer. It was quite hearty so we would eat a big breakfast then go out for the day and usually skip lunch.
You can also enjoy amazing tea here at Hotel Bristol in Oslo.
If you’re looking for tea a little closer to home, check out my blog The Best Tea in San Francisco.
They also have the best hot chocolate in the city! They make their hot chocolate using dark Belgian chocolate and whole milk, accompanied by a dish of perfectly whipped cream.
Cheers to Hotel Bristol for an amazing stay. I can’t wait to go back soon!
