The Best Sparkling Wineries to Visit in California

As many of you may know, I have spent a lot of time visiting amazing wineries in California since moving to California from New York City in 2021.  Summer has arrived and a nice, cool glass of wine is my favorite way to spend any summer day. Speaking of the Best Wines for Summer, I can always go for a glass of sparkling wine.  Continue reading below to see The Best Sparkling Wineries To Visit in California.

Domaine Carneros by Tattinger

Domaine Carneros is a winery I adore and is fabulous for both their delicious wines and the incredible experience when you visit.  Their sparkling wines are delicious and a must-try if you have the chance. I’ve had the opportunity to visit this beautiful winery and even meet the Sparkling Winemaker Zak Miller where I learned the beauty of their wines. Check out the Domaine Carneros website here.

Domaine Chandon

Domaine Chandon is another brand offering high-quality California Sparkling Wine at quite accessible prices. I personally prefer their higher-end Etoile collection as the wines are a perfect special occasion drink as they have aged a bit longer than the others and have more complexity to them. If you’re in Napa Valley, be sure to plan a visit to Domaine Chandon located in Yountville about 2 minutes from town. They have a great brunch pairing experience that I’ve enjoyed which you can read more about here. Be sure to tell them the JSF sent you! Happy bubbles & brunch. Learn more about Chandon wines online here.

Domaine Chandon has extensive garden seating so you can visit and enjoy a tour and tasting then buy a bottle to hang out and relax.

Frank Family Vineyards

As Frank Family Vineyards puts it, “Great Wine Happens Every Day”, and that couldn’t be more true than at this incredible Napa Winery. Sparkling wines were the first wines made at Frank Family Vineyards and they have continued to create four sparkling wines today. Make sure to visit this special spot to try their incredible Blanc De Blancs, Brut Rosé, Rouge and Lady Edythe Reserve Brut. 1091 Larkmead LaneCalistoga, CA 94515

Iron Horse

One of the most well known Sparkling Wine brands in Northern California is Iron Horse. Not only do they make their own wines, but they also make special Cuvees for lots of local San Francisco and Wine Country restauranteurs such as One Market SF, Michael Mina, Dry Creek Kitchen. It’s one of those brands that whenever you see you’ll know there is a Cuvee that will appeal to you. Read more about Iron Horse Vineyards here and purchase Iron Horse Wines here. It certainly belongs on my list of Best California Sparkling Wines!

MacRostie Wines

MacRostie recently launched their first Sparkling Wines, a Brut, and a Sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir. The Brut made from Chardonnay from the legendary Sangiacomo Vineyards, and the Rosé is estate-grown Pinot Noir from MacRostie’s beloved Thale’s Vineyard. The wines are bright, beautiful, and fresh.

Those of you who read my blog know that MacRostie is a Winery I adore and frequent often (literally every time I have an out-of-town visitor to Healdsburg I visit). I suggest you visit if you’re looking for a beautiful winery with amazing hospitality, great wines, and a friendly atmosphere. Read about MacRostie Winery here and be sure to tell them the JSF sent you!

Mumm Napa

A great addition to this list of Sparkling Wineries is Mumm Napa. They have a great range of price points and even have entry-level wines in the mid $20s. It’s hard to find a Napa brand in the mid $20 range, with high-quality wines at a nice accessible price. Purchase these great California sparkling wines on the Mumm Napa website here.

Roederer Estate

When I think of Sparkling Wines, Roederer Estate is one of the first brands that come to mind. I am a fan of their Brut and their Rose which you must try yourself. I had the privilege to visit Roederer Estate and meet their winemaker Arnaud and spend a few hours visiting the winery and seeing how their wines are made. Read more about Roederer Estate on the blog here! To learn about Roederer Estate’s sister brand in Champagne, read about my visit to Maison Louis Roederer on the blog here.

You cannot go wrong with any of their sparkling wines or rosé, and their other selections are also divine! 1400 Schramsberg Rd, Calistoga, CA 94515
