I was recently fortunate to be invited to visit to Mauritson Winery, a winery I’ve come to really adore over the years. This time around was extra special because I experienced a vineyard tour at their Mauritson Vineyards (at Rockpile) with owner, Clay Mauritson. Follow along below to see The Stunning Mauritson Winery’s Rockpile Winery Vineyard Tour.
Mauritson Winery
Located in the beautiful Dry Creek Valley, Mauritson Winery offers small production and single vineyard estate wines. The Mauritson family has been growing grapes in the Dry Creek Valley for over 150 years so you know that you are sipping on fine wine. 2859 Dry Creek Rd, Healdsburg, CA 95448.
Speaking of Clay Mauritson, he is also the co host of the annual Project Zin 2023 event which I recently attended hosted by Chef Charlie Palmer and Clay Mauritson. Project Zin is an incredible event where all of the proceeds go to Down Syndrome Connection Bay Area in support of Clay’s Son Brady who has down syndrome.

Mauritson Winery has some of the best Vineyard views in the Sonoma area. Shown below the vineyards is Lake Sonoma. This is a man made Lake which is quite beautiful and a fabulous destination within Sonoma County. Prior to Lake Sonoma this was land from the family’s Rockpile homestead. The family’s Rockpile homestead and ranch grew to 1,600 hectares by the early 1960s when all but 280 were acquired by the Army Corps of Engineers to develop Lake Sonoma. The family farming operation moved first to Alexander Valley, then expanded into the bench land of Dry Creek Valley.
Vineyard Tour with Owner Clay Mauritson
It was such a pleasure being able to spend time with Clay, learning so much more about a winery I adore, his rich family history, as well as the farming that goes into maintaining this one of a kind beautiful vineyard.

There are so many gorgeous aspects of this vineyard, and everything is picture perfect! These vineyard views are like no other… Swinging on the swing high into the air was probably my favorite experience at Mauritson Winery. I felt as if I was on top of the world literally in my favorite place surrounded by grapes and beautiful views.
Cheers to an absolutely amazing Vineyard Tour at Mauritson Winery!
