Arriving to The Kenwood Inn & Spa with my little Frenchie Ernestine in tow.  I’m not sure who’s more excited for our first California Wine Country getaway, Ernie or me?  The Kenwood Inn & Spa is dog friendly which is great. If you’re planning a visit with your pup you just need to reserve a dog-friendly room prior to your visit (as they have limited rooms for pets).

COVID new travel regulations in Sonoma (and California for that matter) require all visitors to wear masks when at a hotel, restaurant or winery now. It was precautions like this (in addition to many others you’ll see below)  that made me feel very safe and comfortable traveling during COVID.

Throughout the Kenwood Inn & Spa there are beautiful little nooks and crannies with benches, or in this case, chaise lounges  (near the pool) for guests to relax at and enjoy. I love the boutique feel of the hotel and how intimate it feels throughout.

Arriving to my Kenwood King room. This room was quite spacious with a terrace outside (overlooking the beautiful garden where the breakfast is held). It also has a balcony overlooking the hot tub pool. That’s right the Kenwood Inn & Spa has two pools, a regular pool and a hot tub pool (this was closed due to COVID during my visit) but I was able to enjoy the regular pool which was amazing!

Since my visit was during COVID (July, 2020) the welcome treats were pre-packaged ensuring the safety and health for the guests. This cheese and cracker plate was perfect for an afternoon snack as I arrived and immediately headed to the pool for some R & R.

Lucky Ernie has her own bed, a brand new doggie wine toy, and even dog treats.

Ernie is settling right in at The Kenwood Inn & Spa. They were so sweet, she had her own dog bed and also this Santa-Margarita dog treat. She is such a happy girl. I love how easy the Kenwood Inn & Spa makes traveling with a dog. This was my first time bringing Ernie with me and after seeing how easy it was I will be traveling with her more frequently for sure. Thanks again to the Kenwood Inn & Spa team for welcoming her and your dog-friendly accommodations. I highly recommend a pet visit knowing how prepared they are and easy it is for dog owners.

Speaking of being clean + safe, as of this Spring Kenwood Inn & Spa has earned the new Clean + Safe designation by the California Hotel & Lodging Association, a program CHLA started this past spring which also makes you feel an extra layer of safety especially during COVID times traveling.

 

Some of the safety precautions the hotel has implemented during COVID. There was hand sanitizer all over the place and also the water by the pool was self-serve so less interacting between hotel staff and guests.

All smiles enjoying this lovely visit to the Kenwood Inn & Spa. I only stayed for a night which is definitely too short. I’d suggest a two-night stay if you have the time and can make that work. It was very hard to leave after 24 hours.

Morning breakfast views. This was another experience that changed a bit from pre-COVID. The food was served pre-made and wrapped and brought on a tray then guests served themselves. This worked very well and then I enjoyed this delicious breakfast (which the hotel takes each guest’s order of the night before when you check-in). I realize things have changed during COVID but I have to admit the Kenwood Inn & Spa is doing a great job of making me (and the other guests) feel safe while protecting their staff and operating with the most COVID safe ways and procedures possible.

After a lovely 24 hour getaway my bags are packed and it’s time to head home. I’m so sad as we had so much fun during this stay. Ernie doesn’t want to leave either….
