At the 2015 Pebble Beach Food & Wine, I had the pleasure of attending the Restaurant 1833 Cocktails & Cuisine Past Present & Future Event. What I loved about this event was the combination of the historic element brought to life through the delicious cocktails created by the Cosmopolitan Hotel Las Vegas thoughtfully paired with each dish. I also loved the culinary creations (shown below) from a team of chef’s throughout the country coming together to create one cohesive menu for this outstanding Culinary & Cocktail event.
Stokes Adobe House where Restaurant 1833 is located
The stunning outside patio, so cozy and inviting you never want to leave…
Best described by the event hosts, “Set inside the historic Stokes Adobe building, Restaurant 1833 played host to a ghost from its own culinary past: Gallatin’s, the legendary restaurant that once occupied the space. On offer will be Gallatin’s menu classics paired with imaginative cocktails by Mariena Mercer, Chef Mixologist at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. With its famously cheeky slogan, “Halfway between the Hospital and Jail,” Gallatin’s was a glamorous gathering spot for celebrities and politicians. “Featured chefs included Michael Hung from Faith & Flower, Jason Franey from Restaurant 1833, John Cox from the Post Ranch Inn and Ben Spungin from Coastal Luxury Management”.
If you make it to Pebble Beach Food & Wine 2016 I highly recommend you attend this event (if it’s offered again). Not only because the setting at Restaurant 1833 was gorgeous, but because it lets the guest enjoy a variety of Chef’s from very impressive restaurants collaborating together with the mixologist expert Mariena Mercer of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Where else do you get to experience four well-known chef’s cooking under one roof for you? Pretty priceless! Restaurant 1833, 500 Hartnell Street. Monterey, CA. 93940.

This was an amazing event. Not only because I had been dying to visit Monterey’s Restaurant 1833 and I finally got the chance. Also because of the inventive cocktail pairings with the delicious food from such a talented group of chefs. You’ll see what I mean when you take a look at the pictures below!
