What was the occasion: For this summer’s Labor Day weekend I continued my usual travel routine which meant getting out of town and enjoying a nice long weekend of R & R in Laguna Beach, California. My dear friend Lindsay, aka The Lunch Belle’s sister Leila was getting married in Laguna Beach so it was the perfect occasion for a long weekend getaway. Prior to the wedding, my cousin and I decided to head down early to spend a day enjoying the fabulous Montage Hotel & Resort’s Spa. My cousin been a bunch and promised I’d love it. She was right!

What was the spa like; We booked a Spa Treatment which lets you enjoy all of the Spa facilities including the private pool (separate from the pool the hotel guests/non spa members use), a gym (with the most spectacular gym view I’ve experienced), as well as the typical spa offerings: Steam Room, Sauna, Hot Tub as well as a very unique Cold Plunge pool.

What is offered after your treatment: After your treatment they recommend a series including 10 minutes in the hot tub, a quick underwater plunge in the cold pool, then 10 minutes outside of the water relaxing and having your heart rate steady. This is suggested to be done 3 times for a total of 60 minutes. I did the routine twice and was beyond refreshed, rejuvenated and restored after my amazing Reflexology Treatment!!

Why visit: For those looking for a fabulous Spa or just a great mini day vacation the Montage Hotel & Resort’s Spa is it. The Hotel & Resort is beyond gorgeous with spectacular water front views, multiple pools and a phenomenal Spa.

How is the service: The service was 5 stars, as expected for the expensive cost of staying at the Hotel or enjoying the Spa. Everyone was extremely gracious, friendly, accommodating and very well-trained. To me, the extra touches the staff and Hotel/Spa team does are what truly set apart a great hotel from a fabulous hotel and The Montage is definitely a FABULOUS Hotel & Resort! If you’re like me and want as much time in the sun as you can get, book a spa appointment later in the day (after 5pm) so you can arrive to the Spa, get a workout in, head to the pool, leisurely hang out and have lunch by the pool and then as the sun is going down head into the Spa for your treatment.
