Arriving at Round Pond Winery for the Chef’s Tasting. I went with 3 other friends so we were a party of 4 on a beautiful spring afternoon (pre COVID). I absolutely adore Round Pond and have been enjoying their wines, olive oils, and culinary experiences for years so I was thrilled to get to try the new Chef’s Pairing Experience described as:

“Experience the beauty and bounty of Napa Valley as you savor a selection of limited-production estate wines accompanied by four plated food pairings from our Executive Chef. Inspired by the seasons, utilizing the offerings of our estate gardens, and exposing you to panoramic views of the vineyards and Mayacamas mountains, the Chef’s Pairing is a culinary delight for all of your senses.”

The Chef’s Tasting is offered by appointment Monday through Sunday. Allow 90 minutes for this experience. 6 guests maximum.

Round Pond Winery Chef’s Pairing Experience

The Round Pond Estateoutdoor patio has sweeping views of Napa Valley including views of Round Pond’s vineyards in the front of the winery. Guests can’t miss the vineyards as you pull into this beautiful winery entrance. Their outdoor patio is also perfect for a wine tasting during current (COVID times) as it safely socially distances with plenty of fresh air circulating.

The first course which was a vegetarian beet with avocado puree. I ordered this as a vegetarian course which was beyond flavorful and yummy! I think the non-vegetarian dish was duck (which I typically don’t eat hence the vegetarian).

The second course was a delicious beef course and potato puree. Just like the first course, this was delicious and paired beautifully with the Round Pond Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

Chef Jamie, Round Pond Estate Winery’s in house Chef came by to say hello and share more about the delicious pairing. He was lovely and super friendly. He also guided us through this divine tasting experience.

This view under the umbrellas was absolutely exquisite. Feeling the gentle breeze and looking out at the vineyards below, I’m truly in my happy place with a gorgeous glass of Round Pond Estate Winery in hand and these sweeping Napa Valley views behind.

Views of the gorgeous Round Pond Estate Winery garden where lots of the produce is grown for their culinary experiences. They also donate food to local organizations to help feed those hungry.

Look at those vibrant and gorgeous flowers and various vegetables. It makes me want to grow my own garden.
