Besides the fabulous restaurants in Budapest that you can read about on my Budapest Dining Guide here, the nightlife is just as important. The city has such an amazing energy, and is a lot of fun to experience. I was lucky enough to have my Norwegian cousin Helge, a medical student in Budapest, to show us around. He gave us the local’s taste of the exciting Budapest nightlife with the best spots. I only stayed three nights, but highly recommend staying at least four! I guess it’s always great to leave wanting more, and that’s exactly how I felt after leaving Budapest. Continue reading below to see my list for The ‘Where to Drink Guide’ for Budapest, Hungary.
360 Bar
The 360 Bar offers 360-degree views of Budapest with a lengthy wine and cocktail list. There’s no better spot for great drinks with an amazing view which is another favorite of most. If you love a good sunset, you’re definitely going to want to check out the 360 Bar.
Divino Wine Bar
DiVino Wine Bar came highly recommended from our hotel concierge and is known for their happy hour. It was just off the Erzebet Courtyard with both in door and outdoor seating. My favorite part was that their menu was on a chalkboard behind the bar. Such a fun innovative way to illustrate their amazing wine assortment. 1051 Budapest, Szent István tér 3.
Doblo Wine Bar
Doblo Wine Bar is one of the best wine bars according to one of my favorite travel guides, Wallpaper Guide. This was in a more rustic, off-the-beaten-path neighborhood called the Jewish Quarter. I thought the Bar Interior & Decor as well as the amazing Wine list were stellar. Another example of why it’s worth exploring a more off-the-beaten path hood to discover a great find! 1072 Budapest Dob St 20, Hungary +36 20 398 8863.
Mazel Tov
Mazel Tov is a staple among the Budapest nightlife scene, with its stylish, spacious, and cultural environment. I unfortunately didn’t get the chance to visit myself, but have heard so much about this spot. The lush trees and plants, twinkling lights, and glass roof, makes this place a stunning place to visit. The Mediterranean-Hungarian fusion along with their evening cocktails makes this place a fan-favorite.
Piritos Pub
Piritos Pub is a more casual bar with a pretty good size outdoor seating area. It’s in the Kazinczy Utca area which has a ton of outdoor restaurant/bar options. They’re also known for their light tapas-like appetizers so great for not only a drink but a light bite too! It was definitely the most crowded spot I stopped at in Budapest. 075 Budapest, Kazinczy utca 52/c. Térkép Térkép.
Szimpla KERTMOZI
Szimpla KERTMOZI (underground bar) is something everyone has to experience! I had no idea what to expect but shortly after grabbing drinks, I began to understand how cool these bars were and what a unique type of nightlife Budapest had to offer. 1075 Budapest Kazinczy St 14, Hungary. +36 20 261 8669.
