Hook & Ladder Winery was a Winery that came recommended by a lovely man we met at the Croquet Event. He lived close and said that Hook & Ladder’s Chardonnay is as delicious (if not more) than the Chardonnay at Sonoma Cutrer Vineyards, which is saying a lot based on their consistent reviews as #1 Chardonnay in California’s Wine Country. This was a smaller, low-key, off the beaten path winery (meaning you will not find a large tour bus unloading), which is what makes it so charming and my type of spot. We arrived to a warm welcome from Devin (shown below) and a very cool Fire Station esque interior decorated with Fire Fighter Tee Shirts and Gear. I thought this was awesome. Since my Brother-in-Law Andy is a firefighter, I felt right at home. One of the Co Founders (It’s owned by a couple) was a Fire Fighter at San Francisco’s 10th Station at Presidio and Bush St., which happens to be just a few blocks from where I live. What a coincidence! Hook & Ladder is a fabulous Winery with amazing personable service, a fun cool decor and delicious Wines. My most favorites were their Estate Chardonnay and the Station 10. Both of which I bought so I can enjoy again at home with friends. When you visit, if you have the chance plan some time to stay and play Bocce on their outdoors court. Something to look forward to for my next visit! 2134 Olivet Road. Santa Rosa, CA. 95401. 707-526-2255.
