Arriving to Silver Oak Napa Valley for my first visit. I am so excited to finally experience this adored Napa Valley Winery and enjoy their Wine & Food Pairing Tour.
Arriving to the beautiful Silver Oak Napa Valley Winery.
Silver Oaks Napa Valley & Silver Oaks Alexander Valley Proprietor David Duncan who I had the privilege of meeting at their Alexander Valley Winery first opening party. He is just as friendly, grounded and nice as he looks here. Read more about their recently opened LEED Certified Alexander Valley Winery here.
Upon arriving to Silver Oak Napa Valley we were greeted with a glass of the Silver Oak Sauvignon Blanc before heading upstairs to the private food & wine tasting experience.
The stunning set up for our Silver Oak Napa Valley Wine & Food pairing experience. This is a seated 4-course experience with each course paired back to a wine led by a Silver Oak Cellars Hospitality expert. Note, the hospitality associate joins guests during the entire tasting experience. I wasn’t expecting this (sometimes they come and go during a meal like this), just a heads up that this won’t be a visit where you and your friend or date have much time to yourself to taste, chat and be left unattended it’s extremely hands on guided and curated by the host. You can book this experience online here which is $125 per person.
The first course which was a delicious Scallop. This was super light, flavorful and fresh and the perfect palette cleanser to begin the tasting with!
Our second course was a delicious Spinach Pasta with nuts and light cheese. This was also delicious!
The culinary team came by with each course to explain the dish, answer any questions and chat with us. This was such a lovely personal touch which I loved. It’s always great to chat with Chefs or Winemakers first hand to understand the pairings and the inspiration behind each course.
After our tasting we went back to the main tasting room to try a few more of the Twomey Pinot Noir wines. We had one of these during the Wine & Food pairing and I expressed how much I adore Pinot Noir wines so our host generously offered to taste me through their Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (which I loved so much I bought a bottle or two of) as well as another Pinot Noir from Bien Nacido one of my favorite vineyards in Sta. Rita Hills (Santa Barbara). Read more about Sta. Rita Hills on the blog here.
This is what happy ladies look like after a tasting at Silver Oak Napa Valley. We both stocked up on some delicious wine and were all smiles!
Thanks to the Silver Oak Napa Valley team for generously hosting me and my guest Tara for this lovely Wine & Food pairing experience. We had so much fun, enjoyed the amazing Wine & Food pairings and the entire experience with your team.
