The W Hotel Santiago Chile
Beyond Sexy In “Sanhatten” Chile
When planning our trip to Santiago Katherine and I contemplated where to stay and of course the first place we looked into was Starwood Hotels. This was so we could both use our points for the stay and since we’re such loyal Starwood fans and customers it was the obvious best hotel option! We decided on the W Hotel Santiago, which we’d heard great things about. The Santiago W was similar to most W hotels with a cool, lively, sexy vibe. I especially liked the feel of the lobby and restaurants at this W. The food was great and the hotel had a good scene which was a mix of business and leisure travelers and a mix of Americans, Brazilians and other foreign travelers.
The service here was spectacular, especially their Concierge Andres Vergara who was instrumental in helping us pre-plan prior to our arrival and during the visit. Since we visited during Christmas I wanted to be sure to make all of our reservations ahead of time (you never know if places are closed or extremely busy during the holidays). Andre also helped coordinate our transportation and winery visits for the next destination we visited after Santiago, which was Valparaiso, Chile.
Besides the cool lobby and restaurants the hotel also had a great rooftop pool. It was small and more of an adults pool (perfect as I typically don’t want to be around kids when I’m relaxing in a nice hotel pool). However, you’re not able to have cocktails at the roof pool (huge bummer I know). This is due to some routy guests getting into trouble when the W first opened a few years back.
Also if you’re like me and want to see other neighboring hotels, check out the Ritz Carlton Santiago which is just a few blocks away. I was told they had a serious renovation when the new W Santiago was opening. It’s a bit sleepier than the W Santiago, but it’s gorgeous and like most Ritz Carlton’s has a beautiful building and I’d expect fabulous restaurants and awesome service.
