After spending an incredible four days at the 2017 World of Pinot Noir Wine Festival there were a few takeaways that I had from the experience. First, we are beyond fortunate with the incredible assortment of United States Pinot Noir Wines the guests and I were able to experience including California and Oregon Wines. As someone who adores Burgundy varietals (yes, I love Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) the World of Pinot Noir was really a dream event for me combing my favorite two varietals with the most talented winemakers in the industry.
Second, after attending this for my second year (read about my 2016 World of Pinot Noir coverage here), I tried to focus on getting to know some new winemakers and brands I was less familiar with. I paid special attention to the female winemakers as I’ve been wanting to dedicate a post to talented females in the industry and this was the perfect occasion! I am pleased to say there were quite a few pouring and or represented by their brands.
In honor of National Women’s Day and the amazing women in both the wine world and entrepreneurial world, I wanted to share some of the talented Female Winemakers I met this year at The World of Pinot Noir. As always, if I’m missing anyone please let me know as I’d love to expand this list to additional talented fearless women in wine. I thank each of you for your hard work, passion and success in winemaking. As a writer who loves to write about wine and learn about the topic, it’s even that much more special to get to write about strong, fearless, brilliant, successful women like you. Thank you again and I can’t wait to share a glass with you soon!
