Club Med Ixtapa Mexico’s Family Friendly
Ixtapa Resort
Along the Western coast of Mexico you’ll find Ixtapa. Ixtapa is a charming area of the country about 20 minutes from the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo International Airport. This is where the fabulous Club Med Ixtapa Village is located.
As a bit of a Club Med veteran, with my most recent December 2014 visit marking my 12th Club Med stay, I can confidently say that Club Med’s are a fabulous all-inclusive, fun, resort to visit. For anyone not familiar with Club Med, their villages have nice accommodations (they have upgraded them recently from the simpler accommodations I grew up familiar with). However, Club Med is known for their great entertainment including nightly theatre shows, their easy-going culture, and great activities and sports. The concept is very social, meeting other guests aka G.M’s (abbreviation for General Member) and G.O.’s (the staff that works at the Club, an abbreviation for General Officer). If you are the type of person that enjoys pool games, tennis, sailing, kayaking, darts, windsurfing, aerobics, archery, basketball, volleyball or any of the above Club Med is perfect for you. Learn more about the activities offered here. On the contrary, for those wanting to read, relax and just chill you can also do that. As a kid at Club Med my sisters and I did every activity offered, more recently these days I am the anti-social guest reading by the pool or beach or playing with my nephews and niece in between their naps. As evident, the many options offer something for everyone!!!
On top of the amazing activities Club Med offers great food. Remember, you are at an all-inclusive resort however, considering the 800+ guests and employees the team cooks for they really do a phenomenal job! I’ve dedicated an entire post to the food, Club Med Ixtapa’s Fabulous Food. Club Med Ixtapa, Mexico.

June 30, 2014Club Med Ixtapa is great especially after the remodel. We took our 4 month old son and he loved the kids club. Very family friendly, but still relaxing for adults. Great recommendation JSF!
