Arriving at San Francisco’s Epi Center MedSpa which is conveniently located just a block off Union Square at 450 Sutter St #800, San Francisco, CA 94108.
Patients are welcomed to this lovely lobby as they await their treatment. Speaking of Epi Center MedSpa, I wanted to share some fun facts to share with you about the Spa.
After checking in you are taken to the relaxation room to settle in with a glass of wine, water, tea, whatever you want. I love the relaxing setting with the fireplace and cozy robes (shown below).
Patients are also given a robe to change into and this cute monogram tote to put your belongings in. How adorable, right?
During my visit to Epi Center MedSpa, we skipped the robe since it was a facial treatment only so I’m in my regular street clothes. This is views of my face pretreatment. The treatments I received during this visit including Botox (to my forehead and in between my eyes) and a little bit (half the usual amount) of fillers below my eyes. Why fillers? For the past year or so I’ve noticed pretty dark bags under my eyes which is a result of the skin losing its fullness with aging, the tissues around your eyes, including some of the muscles supporting your eyelids, weaken which in my case was making my dark circles more apparent. It seemed no matter how much sleep I got (as I’m an 8-9 hour sleeper usually) the bags would not go away). So after consulting many experts fillers seemed to be the best solution. See more below.
My forehead wrinkles are between my eyes. Typically people have one line (a number one) or two like me (called the eleven). I have two which will be erased within 10-14 days of the botox kicking in. Trust me it’s unbelievable how quickly you see the botox results and Epi Center MedSpa does such a great job, the post-treatment results look natural yet are still effective at line reducing.
I’ve also recently developed some upper forehead wrinkles which I am not crazy about. The botox will also make these go away. It’s amazing the results you’ll see with botox in such a short amount of time (in my case it took about 10 – 14 days) for all the wrinkles we targeted to go away (temporarily that is). They recommend botox every 6 months or so. I’ve done it before and am averaging once a year (by the 12th month the wrinkles are back so I may move that up to closer to every 9 months or so).
Let the treatment begin. We started with my forehead, the Medical provider marked my forehead where the wrinkles were to be sure the botox went into the problem area. This hurt a little bit, not as bad as a vaccine when you feel the medicine going into your body, more like a prick then you don’t feel much as the medicine enters your face.
Next was the filler treatment which felt very strange as you can feel a thick substance entering your skin. The Nurse then massages the fillers for approximately 3-5 minutes to smooth them out and make sure they’re in the right place where you were targeting to replace the flattened skin.
Post Treatment Results
So a few things to share with you if you’re trying Botox for the first time. It can take up to 7-10 days for the results to kick in. I noticed that that timing was very true and literally by day 10 or so my forehead wrinkles and the 11 (the two lines between my eyebrows were gone). See a few shots of me post-treatment below and let me know what you think! And when you plan your visit to Epi Center MedSpa be sure to tell them the JetSetting Fashionista sent you. Enjoying a fabulous stay at the Solage Resort for my birthday weekend! Read more about the Solage on the blog.
Post-treatment my forehead is wrinkle free and the bags under my eyes are definitely less visible.
Here’s another close up where you can see my post-treatment results. My forehead is literally wrinkle free. Also, I did some light fillers (under my eyes) to combat the dark circles I’ve been noting as I get older. Here I barely have any dark circles under my eye which is a result of the filler. Note I did half the usual amount for my first time. I’m of the nature I prefer less for a more natural look but check with your Treatment Center or dermatologist to see what the right amount is for you!
