After years of dreaming about visiting River’s End for a stay, I had the pleasure of surprising Robert for a weekend birthday getaway. Tucked on a bluff above the spot where the Russian River spills into the Pacific, this charming Sonoma Coast getaway delivers jaw-dropping views, cozy cabins, and a fabulous restaurant you won’t want to miss. Staying at River’s End Restaurant & Inn
I was beyond excited to stay at River’s End Restaurant & Inn, and it did not disappoint! I had visited the restaurant a few times over the years and it’s spectacular. Great for a day trip from San Francisco or in my case Healdsburg. Grab lunch, explore the Sonoma Coast and be home by dinner. So you can imagine how thrilled I was for a 48-hour Sonoma staycation at River’s End.
If you’re planning a romantic staycation or a relaxing getaway with family or friends, this is the perfect place to unwind. The gorgeous sea views alone make it worth the trip, and you’ll find yourself not wanting to leave! Book your stay on their website here. Be sure to mention the JSF sent you 🙂
The Sonoma Coast is also a great place to go wine tasting! Check out The Best Sonoma Coast Wineries on my blog!

There are smaller cozy cabins and also single family homes. We stayed in the Oceana House which is the largest, has the most privacy at the end and in my opinion was the best!! These cabins and homes are designed for unplugging with gorgeous just ocean views, gas fireplaces, and private balconies perfect for watching the sunset. The vintage charm fits the setting, and it felt like a true getaway from everyday life.

Patio with a view! We built a fire and hung out here our entire Sunday afternoon after a fabulous hike at near bye Jenner Headlands Preserve.

Dining at River’s End Restaurant
The on-site restaurant is a highlight of the stay, with an intimate dining room and a view of the water. Fresh, seasonal ingredients and plenty of seafood, paired with a great wine list. Having an amazing dinner just steps from your room is the ultimate luxury!
