One of my favorite places is Seaside Florida. It’s on the Western Coast along the Gulf of Mexico coastline and has a very Southern Influence (the local people and the local food). I’ve been many times with an old friend Katherine (Yes same Katherine from Asia, Chile, Argentina, Vienna & Budapest) and I think it’s one of the best-kept secrets in Florida. Thanks again to Katherine and her awesome family for sharing this heavenly destination with me as their guest!
Seaside Florida
Seaside is best known as the location of the movie, The Truman Show. It is beyond picturesque with stunning white beaches, and an ocean so blue you feel as if you’re in Belize, not Florida. The architecture here is beyond stunning with most of the houses having porches with rocking chairs and a Southern Cottage (by cottage I mean large cottage) vibe.
Airstream Row
There is a row of Airstreams which are great if you want a more casual bite. They have an assortment of options which include:
- Barefoot BBQ – Various BBQ options
- Crepes de Soleil – Crepes
- Frost Bites – Hawaiian shaved ice, frozen custard, and various drinks.
- The Meltdown on 30A – Grilled cheeses.
- Wild Bill’s Beach Dogs – Hot dogs and such!

Bud & Alley’s Roof Deck Bar & Restaurant
Bud & Alley’s Roof Deck is THE spot in town. You’ll go at least once during any visit to Seaside whether you go for a sunset cocktail or a drink after dinner or dinner. They have great bar food and also more fine dining.

Bud & Alley’s Taco Bar
Bud & Alley’s Taco Bar is a newer addition to Seaside (since my first visit in 2003 or so) and it’s amazing. Each time I go back it’s even better with new additions to the menu. The team that works there is beyond friendly and super nice. This became my go-to spot on my most recent visit for lunch (almost daily) as well as sometimes a late afternoon snack. Yes I LOVE this place!! 2236 E County Road 30-A, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459
Modika Market
This is THE local grocery store in Seaside which is great for anything you could need. They have great sandwiches and other gourmet culinary options. They also have a delicious Arnold Palmer which is spectacular and I’m addicted to.
Forty-Five Central Wine & Sushi Bar
If you’re looking for great sushi and Paella (on select nights) which is to die for be sure to plan a visit to Forty-Five Central Wine Bar & Sushi. I experienced their Paella and it’s amazing. Plan to arrive by 5pm or so (to get a table and order Paella) as it sells out very quickly.
The lovely outdoor seating at Forty Five Central Wine & Sushi Bar.
The beyond delicious Little Gem with Ginger Salad. The Ginger dressing is so good you’ll want to eat the dressing
