For those of you in the know, you’re probably already crazy about Sonoma’s adored Girl & The Fig. If you’re not, no worries! I’ll tell you all about it. I recently visited during a weekend stay in Sonoma; While staying there, I had an incredible dinner and loved getting to know the menu and team so well. The experience was lovely. It has a very homey, cozy vibe to it with antique furniture and really country-esque decor. The team could not have been friendlier or more accommodating towards me and the other guests. Best of all, the food is as great as you’d hope. Read more about the beloved Girl & The Fig below and my fabulous dining experience. They also have a Cafe & Wine Bar in Glen Ellen which is super cute and you can read about that here.
Be sure to order a cheese plate during your visit! Their cheese plates are quite memorable and tasty.
A few of the stand-out items on Sonoma’s the girl & the fig menu are their cheese plates. I was torn on where to start, so we ordered the Cheese & Mano Formate Cured Meats plate (shown below) which was amazing. The cheeses were all flavorful with really unique profiles so each one was very different offering a great range in flavor, texture, color, and experience.
The most delicious mussels I have ever had served in a delicious white wine and garlic sauce. These mussels were so good I had to ask where they were sourced! I was informed that they come from Prince Edward Island and are beyond fresh. Seriously, I think every time I’m back at girl & the fig I will have to have these, they were that good…
During this visit, I was actually staying at Arrowood Winery’s guest house, so what’s more perfect than some local Sonoma eats and Sonoma Wine! My kind of California evening out on the town. Read more about Arrowood Winery here.
Sondra Bernstein, Owner, and John Toulze, Executive Chef & Partner.
The awesome back patio is covered and heated in the winter. I’ve eaten outside here before and it’s a lot of fun!
Thanks to the Girl and The Fig team for hosting me for my dinner. It was lovely getting to finally have dinner at this adored Sonoma gem and share the visit with my readers.
