Napa’s newest culinary addition is Chef Charlie Palmer’s Steak Napa located in the stunning new Archer Hotel Napa. I visited for dinner and had a lovely evening in the beautiful new hotel and restaurant and was, luckily, able to experience this culinary gem from one of my favorite Chef’s in the region, Chef Charlie Palmer.
Chef Charlie Palmer with the over the top donut wheels. This is absolutely something I need to come back and try!

We started out the evening with a cocktail. It’s always essential after a day of wine tasting to have a change of palette before having wine again with dinner!
We were torn on what appetizer to start with, but eventually decided on the Crab Appetizer with Avocado which was divine super light and flavorful. We also decided to share a Scallops Entree (the team was great and made a portion of 2 for us to start with). Both of these starters were incredible and if I went back and wasn’t in a steak mood, I would order the Scallops again as an entree. So incredible, we both loved them!
After starting with a cocktail we then, of course, progressed to wine… I was thrilled to see one of my favorite Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir Wines on the list from Failla Wines, the 2015 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
The Caesar Salad with baby romaine, quail egg, prosciutto, real anchovy, sourdough nuggets, parmesan. This was delicious and definitely something I would recommend trying when you visit!

The delicious Pastrami Short Rib. This was divine with the Potato Puree it was served with.
We were talked into sharing a Filet for two and of course with every delicious steak you must have a few fabulous sides. We opted for the Spinach, Truffle Potatoes, and Asparagus. The Truffle Potatoes are an absolute MUST and so is the Charlie Palmer Steak Sauce, it was so good I wanted to take a bottle home with me!
For the grand finale (dessert), we tried the Peanut Butter Terrine (above) with banana cremeaux and curried candy peanuts, and the Butterscotch Bread pudding buffalo trace bourbon ice cream, caramel. My favorite was the Peanut Butter Terrine which I also learned is Chef Charlie’s favorite. I guess great minds think alike!
After a longer than expected dinner, I decided to spend the night in Napa vs. driving back to the city. Since I hadn’t planned for this, I was without any toiletries. Thankfully, the generous team at Archer Hotel shared some goodies with me for my unexpected stay. Truly amazing hospitality, sharing toiletries with guests who are not even staying at the hotel.
A very big thanks to Archer Hotel Napa team who helped find me my toiletries for my overnight in Napa.
Thanks to the Charlie Palmer Steak team for hosting me and my guest for this lovely dinner.
