Bistrot du Monde

My first stop when I arrived to Sicily was the fabulous Bistrot du Monde whcih was recommended to me by the Concierge at my hotel and also on a few blogs that I read. I always cross reference where my recommendations came so this was on a few list which means it’s a MUST try!  If you’re looking for something delicious other than pasta, this place has some really great seafood options. It’s located on a super touristy street so make a reservation in advance and ask for an outdoor table.  Via Naumachia, 25, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy

The charming restaurant interior. I ate inside which was cute but as mentioned above, the street was buzzing so try to book ahead and request an outside table.

Gelatomania

Visiting Italy and not trying gelato is unthinkable. Gelatomania, consistently outstanding, served some of the finest I’ve tasted. It’s the ideal treat for dessert or as a snack on a sunny summer afternoon. Find it at Corso Umberto, 7, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy. 

Hotel Carlotta

Hotel Carlotta is known for their breathtaking rooftop restaurant overlooking Sicily. Accompanied with amazing food, this restaurant combines scenery with their cuisine to create a splendid experience.  Make a reservation on the early side so you can enjoy a cocktail and take in the sunset. I was a tad too late to enjoy the sunset so that’s my JSF tip for you! Early dinner with stunning rooftop views, amazing service and great food. Via Luigi Pirandello, 81, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy

Metropole Taormina

Inquiring about the finest cocktails in Sicily, the chic rooftop of Hotel Metropole Taormina frequently came up as a top recommendation. True to its reputation, this hotel was a delightful experience with incredible views and spectacular cocktails. I began with rooftop cocktails and was so enamored that I stayed on for dinner, also on a roof terrace, enjoying stunning coastal views. Corso Umberto, 154, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy.

A warm welcome by the lovely hotel manager. She could not have been sweeter finding me to say hello then getting me situated at this gorgeous rooftop restaurant for dinner following my drinks. Talk about spectacular hospitality! 

Grand Miramare

I had the pleasure of staying at the exquisite Hotel Grand Miramare, renowned for its delightful drinks and cuisine. The hotel offers stunning views that truly encapsulate the essence of Sicilian culture. This was a perfect balance of accessible luxury (a 4 Star Hotel) that did not break the bank (I paid around $1200 for 3 nights) and the food and amenities exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this for a nice hotel with stunning views, a great location and a great team. The hotel was recently renovated so the rates may have gone up quite a bit (closer to $900 – $1000) per night. I was so lucky to get to visit pre renovation as it was such a gem and at a reasonable price for someone traveling alone who still wanted a great hotel with amazing views.  Via Guardiola Vecchia, 27, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy.

Rosmarino Taormina

Rosmarino Taormina is a classic restaurant that offers traditional Sicilian dishes with al fresco dining. This was one of my absolute favorite restaurants while staying in the area. It came recommended my the convierge and a few other blogs I checked out. You can make a reservation in Google. Be sure to make one of these before your trip as it was quite booked up when we were there.  Via Bagnoli Croci, 88/B, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy

 

San Domenico Palace, The Four Seasons Resort

If you’re familiar with the hit show White Lotus, you may find this place familiar. San Domenico Palace is a Four Seasons Resort that holds the key location to the latest season in Italy. Get the most gorgeous views and dine just like those in the show at the fabulous restaurant here. Via S. Domenico, 5, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy

Trattoria Tiramisu 

Trattoria Tiramisu was an amazing restaurant with some incredible food. This small, but charming spot is a real hit in the area and I strongly recommend you try it. Viale Apollo Arcageta, 9, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy
