Recently I had the pleasure of attending a Winemaker Dinner with Rajat Parr & Sashi Moorman at Delfina Restaurant. Immediately upon seeing this invitation, I knew I had to join. What’s not to love about dinner at this Mission gem with wines from two of the most talented winemakers in the Central Coast making the adored labels Sandhi and Domaine de la Cote. Our amazing server and Winemaker, Rajat Parr, hanging out with us during dinner.
The first course we enjoyed was the SF Halibut Crudo with pickled gypsy peppers & cucumbers. This was so light and flavorful, perfect to start, and paired with the Sandhi 2011 Rita’s Crown Chardonnay
In order to try both the tasting menu and a few other dishes on the menu, one of us ordered the tasting menu and one of us ordered the a la carte off the menu, which let us try this amazing Formaggi with Mission figs & semolina cracker, Rocolo Divino, and Quadrello. This was so delicious, that when I just recently dined again at Delfina Restaurant with my family this past weekend, we had it again. The honey, figs, and cheese are such a great pairing together!
Another entree we enjoyed which was a pasta with pine nuts, covered in an incredibly flavorful sauce. This was also divine!
The seasonal Corn stuffed pasta with mushrooms in a brown butter sauce. This was literally life changing it was so delicious, and the brown butter sauce paired perfectly with the Sandhi Chardonnay.
Views from the open kitchen. Talk about food envy…
The Roasted Chicken which I enjoyed as my entree. This was divine, quite possibly the best chicken I’ve had in San Francisco. Kudos to Delfina Restaurant on this over the top dish– I’m obsessed.
Me and Winemaker Rajat Parr enjoying his incredible wine together.
Enjoying a chocolate dessert, the perfect conclusion to this lovely meal!
Thank you to Delfina Restaurant for hosting me and a guest for this amazing winemaker dinner. It was such a treat getting to experience your restaurant, and now that I’m a neighbor, I’ll be returning quite frequently.
