Fig & Honey Beauty & Home Products

One of my favorite parts of attending Alt Summit’s June 2014 conference was meeting other fabulous bloggers and entrepreneurs. One of which was Courtney Beth, Founder of Fig & Honey. She is from Idaho and right off the bat I liked her and was inspired by her creativity, networking skills and cool personality. Remember, there were over 400 people to meet in just 3 days so one that made an immediate memorable impression meant she was a cool girl and someone I’d keep in touch with. She told me about a company she had founded called Fig & Honey. The concept was natural beauty and home products. Think along the lines of Molton Brown with Beauty AND Home Products such as face washes, toners, eye shadow,&  room sprays….. The products are fresh, clean products that use nutrient dense by-products from the beer and winemaking process.  Sounds cool, right! That’s exactly what I thought….

After returning home from ALT she reached out to me about trying some of her products and sharing my experience with my readers. I was of course flattered at the offer. I got to experience some fabulous products that are fresh, clean and by products of beer & wine making (it felt like I’d be enjoying/experiencing one of my favorite Chardonnays in my Beauty regimen! Not really but a girl can always dream).  So after receiving a beautiful care package (yes I’m a sucker for packaging, gift wrap, note cards…) I couldn’t have been more excited for the testing to begin…..

IMG_3049The products I’d be testing: Shampoo/Wash, Surf Spray, Room Spray, Eye Shadow, Toner, Face Serum & Tonic

Signature Face Serum – This was definitely my favorite product that I tried. I love a serum, especially one like this that adds extra moisture to my face with a long-lasting feel to it. This serum is fabulous. It’s quite rich in the sense that after you apply it you can still feel it holding in the moisture on your face unlike some that evaporate with time. It also has a great scent, similar to the scent you smell during a facial. If you’re like me and enjoy a nice facial and love the smell of professional facial products that leave your face smooth, rich and moist, you’ll love this product!!

Signature Balancing Tonic– I like to think that as a Face Tonic user for the past ten years (I have a dear friend Katie to thank for our Aveda spa appointments which led to my twice daily tonic use, which to this day I still do religiously) this was a super easy product to use and that I like the results from. It’s light and leaves your skin feeling refreshed and moist without an overpowering scent or heavy feel to it. Give it a try it’s hard not to like.

Fig & Honey Life

Lavendar & Lemonade Room Spray – Another product I immediately fell in love with. If you like the smell of fresh lemonade combined with a clean serene scent of lavender you’ll love this. I’m a huge fan of room Sprays. Until discovering this product, I’ve always used the Molton Brown Room Spray however, this will change that. Molton Brown you’ve got some competition! What a lovely, light, refreshing, feminine smell this Room Spray will offer your home. Give it a try, I promise you’ll like it it’s hard not to!

Mineral Eyeshadow (Fig color) – As someone who wears eyeshadow daily, I loved the idea of trying a light product that gives a bit of sheet color yet doesn’t scream I’m wearing make up. I tried the Fig and thought it was great (shown below, with a light purple and sheer grey tones to it).  It’s definitely very light with a sheer feel and look to it. It’s perfect for day time wear when you want light coverage that doesn’t feel cakey or heavy but gives you a light shimmer and glow.

Lemon Radish Hair Surf Spray – When I realized Fig & Honey offered a Surf Hair Spray I was thrilled.  As someone who wears their hair straight most of the time and the few times when it’s warm enough or I’m on vacation I wear it curly this product was right up my alley. After trying it a few times it seems to be very light and non sticky which is great. It’s not on of those products that feels sticky in your hands or leaves your curls hard as rock.  It leaves a very loose natural looking soft curl, at least that’s what it did to my hair.

Broccoli & Basil Shampoo/Wash – Of all the products I tried this may be the one that wasn’t the right scent for me. Funny, I love Broccoli, however, after using the Shampoo a few times I realized it may not be the scent I want to have in my hair or on my body. That’s not to say it wasn’t a good product, it was, however I love shampoos that have a sweeter smell to them.  Just because it’s not for me doesn’t mean others won’t use it and love it!
