San Francisco Cooking School’s Pro Pastry Graduation Day
As a food blogger that is very familiar with the well-known San Francisco Cooking School you can imagine my excitement when my friend Heidi invited me to attend their upcoming Cooking School Pro Pastry Graduation Day. Anything involving food, delicious baked goods, and aspiring Chefs was something I would definitely clear my schedule to attend.
Upon arriving to the event I was warmly greeted by students passing around delicious desserts and offered a glass of wine by Cooking School Founder Jodi Liano. Really, if this is how the reception started I knew I was in for a treat! The next two hours were exactly that. The students walked around sharing their creations with the various guests. By sharing I mean offering pastry after pastry to us attending. I had to start sharing bites with a friend otherwise I was worried I’d fill up and miss another fabulous item. As someone who has a sweet tooth, I loved it all. Literally. My favorite item (I say item but I’ll share my top 3 favorites!) was probably the Chocolate Chip Cookie (a treat on the large table spread that we were asked to take home with us to enjoy), the Meyer Lemon Tart, and the Croissant like pizza (all items shown below).
The event wasn’t only eating. San Francisco Cooking School Founder Jodi Liano congratulated the students on their graduation and shared the amazing restaurants the students graduating are working at next. This was truly a special event. Not only because I enjoyed desserts like a Queen for two hours. Also because it’s wonderful to witness such an important day for the students who had clearly worked so hard for this moment. I look forward to seeing the students throughout the city in their new roles.
A huge thank you to our hostess Jodi, Heidi (my friend who helped with the PR for this event) as well as the students. I loved being a part of your graduation celebration day and look forward to further involvement with the San Francisco Cooking School as I’m a huge fan! 690 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102. 415-346-2665.

My FAVORITE dessert the Meyer Lemon Tart with Brown Sugar Meringue
Earl Grey Pot de Creme
Another unexpected dessert, The Tarte Flambe which was similar to a pizza but with a croissant like crust. Delicious!
Farina Fritter with Rhubarb. This was wonderful, it was similar to a tater tot but with a sweet taste vs. salty. A very fun and delicious item!
Gougeres which were divine, great crisp on the outside with rich taste and moisture inside.
