When visiting San Francisco or even for locals I highly recommend spending some time at the Ferry Building. Why? Because it’s beautiful. It’s situated on the Embarcadero with views of the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz and the San Francisco Bay. Second, it has amazing restaurants and dining spots whether sit down or something more casual there’s something for everyone. Third, it has great shopping. Click here for an entire list of Ferry Building Shopping & Dining. Overall it’s just a fun spot to visit for both tourists and locals!!
Gott’s Roadside
For the best burger, amazing salads and over all yummy everything check out Gott’s Roadside. During the summer they have some amazing specials to try and on a beautiful California day this outside patio is perfect to grab a bite, have a drink and just relax while taking in the lively Embarcadero views, people and fun!

Fort Point Beer Co.
Another spot on the exterior of The Ferry Building is Fort Point Beer Co located on the exterior of The Ferry Building. This is great to have a beer at, hang out in their outside beer garden and take in the Embarcadero views.
Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream
One of the best Ice Creams in San Francisco. I love this stuff. You must visit here or at their Mission location!
Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant
The most fabulous wine store and wine bar in the Ferry Building. I adore their weekly tastings and enjoyed one recently with Williams Selyem Winemaker Jeff Mangahas (shown below). Read more about Williams Selyem Winery here.

Cowgirl Creamery
Any cheese lovers must check out Cowgirl Creamery. They have great cheese and other culinary items to purchase to go and also offer sandwiches, soups and other yummy bites to order and eat there. You can also get Cowgirl cheeses at their Cowgirl Creamery Point Reyes location, a must visit when doing the Point Reyes Elk Hike I highly recommend!
Mariposa Baking Company
For those with a sweet tooth check out Mariposa Baking Company. They offer gluten-free baked goods which are delicious!
Heath Ceramics
For some of the most popular and adored ceramics in San Francisco be sure to swing by Heath Ceramics for plates, vases and other ceramic ware. Heath ceramics are found in many restaurants in San Francisco and have a cult following. Warning they are not cheap, so plan to drop some money if you fall in love and decide to get some new plates and dining wear!

Another great spot for a bite is El Porteno with delicious Empanadas!
