Assuming you enjoy reading as much as I do I thought I’d share my Top 10 Best Books I’ve enjoyed and recommend for travel. It’s rare that I get to read a book during my day to day life so reading has really become a treat I get to enjoy while traveling either on vacation (as in on a beach reading for hours) or as I’m flying home or for work travel.
As always, I adore reading on my kindle so that’s my reading device of choice. Regardless of how you read, here are some picks I think you will really enjoy!
1. Everything We Keep by Kerry Lonsdale.
One of the fastest books I’ve read in a while. A love story with a twist. This is about young high school sweethearts and what happens after one of them dies just says before their wedding. I read it in 3 days, see if you can beat me!
2. All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
Amazing read about World War II. I suggest reading it before or after reading The Nightingale as their stories overlap. I read them back to back and loved how similar they were yet very different story lines.
3. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
Another incredible story about World War II. Ideally read before or after reading All The Light We Can Not See.
4. The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Steadman
A romantic love story that takes place in Australia about a couple who find something that they are torn about keeping or not. It’s not as fast of a page turner as some of the others, however it is a great story and if you stick with it you’ll really enjoy it I imagine.
5. The Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins
This is a romantic book with a twist. As the name describes it shares a story of something witnessed on a train ride and the repercussions of what was witnessed. This is another book that everyone who reads it adores.
6. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
This is a super moving love story about two young teenagers. It’s also quite sad but moving and a great read.
7. The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty
This is another super fast read that you will not be able to put down. Once again, there is a twist which you’d never expect…..
8. The Cuckoo’s calling by Robert Galbraith
This is an incredibly action packed thrilled about a murder and the investigation of it. I loved it, very different from your typical drama. Once again, this is a page turner.
9. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
If you have not heard about Gone Girl I’d be shocked. This has been made into a movie with Ben Affleck and I suggest reading the book before seeing the movie. This is a thrilled about a husband and wife murder. Read it to see more but it’s amazing!
10. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larrson
This series came out a few years ago and I read through them all. It’s about murder, violence and excitement so if you’re not ok with some rough murder scenes I would skip this book. After you read the book check out the movies, they are great too but like any book that becomes a movie I always think the book is the BEST, so read it first. No cheating!
