From the moment I moved to Healdsburg, located in California’s Sonoma County I had heard all the buzz about the NEW Montage opening in Healdsburg. I was so excited to visit and immediately I fell in love with the grounds, their fabulous Hazel Hill Restaurant (read more here), and everything about Montage.

You can imagine my excitement when they invited me in for a stay. I have to say, it was worth the wait and exceeded all of my expectations. Montage Healdsburg is beyond luxurious, beautiful, with exceptional customer service, and a MUST for luxury travelers heading to Sonoma County.

Arriving at Montage Healdsburg

One of the best parts of the Montage Healdsburg is that it is a fantastic dog-friendly hotel. I love taking Ernestine with me on any adventure I can and she loves it just as much.

Ernestine loves getting treated like a princess wherever she goes, and the staff at Montage Healdsburg were no exception. They are beyond dog-friendly and perfect for traveling with your dog.

The Rooms at Montage Healdsburg

As soon as you walk into the rooms at Montage Healdsburg, you’re greeted by the most gorgeous views. A beautiful living space, bedroom, stunning views and a huge bathroom are guaranteed to make your stay special.

The king studio (more of a suite, not a studio which it is called) was spectacular! This was the living room area which was extremely spacious and heavenly and also had a pullout bed (if needed).

Ernestine was just as excited to be greeted in the hotel room with an array of items for her. Her favorite was the Squeaky Rosé toy from our pals at Fideaux Healdsburg. Read more about Fidueax and my favorite shops in Healdsburg in my Healdsburg Shopping Guide here.

I can’t stress enough how wonderful the staff is at making the experience at Montage Healdsburg special. We were welcomed into the room with a lovely note and a bottle of wine for our stay. Thank you to GM Allen and PR Director Jennifer and the team. You made us feel so welcome!

The stunning Studio patio overlooking Sonoma County. This was so beautiful that we didn’t leave. We ended up having sunset wine on the patio and ordering in-room service (JSF Tip, I suggest the Burger it’s just as great from room service as in The Hazel Hill Restaurant).

It’s not every day I get to visit a room this magical so I wanted to treasure every minute! 

They even have a fire pit to make these gorgeous views an even more incredible experience.

The bathroom in the rooms is perfect for your relaxing stay as you can enjoy a bath or an extraordinary indoor or outdoor shower experience. I did both since I can’t resist a gorgeous bath during a hotel stay and had to try out the outdoor shower. Talk about pure bliss!

The Montage Healdsburg Experience

Along with wonderful rooms and staff, there are still so many things to do while staying at Montage Healdsburg. From bike rides, the pool, great food from their restaurants, and even a spa, you’re guaranteed an amazing time.

Waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee with a warm fire to start the day… couldn’t ask for anything better.

The food at Hazel Hill and the hotel room service, which we enjoyed for dinner (I mean, how could we leave the gorgeous room for any reason), were delicious! There is truly nothing like having this view with your breakfast in the morning. Read more about Hazel Hill Restaurant here.

During the stay, I had the pleasure of seeing Montage Healdsburg GM Allen Highfield (who’s wonderful) and also saying hello to his dog Beau. Beau is the Resort dog too who’s around throughout the day welcoming guests and greeting them.  He’s beyond social and adorable.

Shown is the gorgeous gym with pool and vineyard views. My favorite part are there 4 Peloton Bikes. So nice as a guest to be able to spin whether you’re home or away on a Peloton!

Fun at the Pool

A must for the summer is spending time at the pool. The service was phenomenal and I loved the pool along with the lounging areas. They also have a delicious pool side restaurant perfect for a casual bite, or drink!

Nothing quite like enjoying a cold, refreshing drink by the pool on a hot summer day. They were so attentive bringing chilled fruit shots, and diced fruit. The pool staff (like the rest of the staff) is all about the elevated guest experience and providing anything a guest could imagine.

The private bungalows pool side are perfect for a big group or anyone preferring shade to sun.
