Where is Cold Storage: Cold Storage is in Chicago’s West Loop a very trend hot spot in Chicago with a ton of incredible restaurants, lofts, and start ups. Coming from New York it reminds me of the Meat Packing area, probably because Fulton Street Market is also located in the West Loop. Cold Storage is on the ground floor of the Google Building, attached to it’s sister restaurant Swift & Sons, another incredible restaurant I recommend experiencing.
Why visit Cold Storage: For starters look at the pictures, it’s incredibly gorgeous and cool with a modern industrial aesthetic to it. The decor was inspired by the ice storage and refrigeration from the original meatpacking residents. The restaurant centers around the cool round bar with views of the fresh seafood and the picturesque bar. Not only is the space amazing, the food and overall experience are too. It’s a casual Sea Food Menu, think Oysters, Lobster Roll with everything fresh and tasty. However, once you finish eating the desserts are really what you’ll get excited about.
Our dinner spread of a Seafood Platter including Oysters and Crab plus the complimentary house potato chips and the Sardines. I love the presentation and the fun playful serving wear.
The delicious Mussel dish. The broth was incredible, paired with some bread I was in heaven.
The out of this world Ice Cream Sunday. Even if you don’t get a chance to eat dinner here I highly recommend drinks and dessert as this bar is gorgeous with such a great scene and an overall fabulous experience!
The assortment of Ice Cream Sundays. I told you, you must try a Sunday when you visit!
